Wow, who could have foreseen when I started writing in April of this year about my passion for gaming? I have just reached the milestone of 100 posts on my blogging website.
In my “About me” page I wrote at the time:
“My friends tend to look at me with a faraway look in their eyes when I talk gaming to them again, so I decided to spare them and take up blogging about gaming instead. These are my thoughts and experiences in gaming from the perspective of a 50+ year old lady!”
See, I told you I could talk about gaming until the cows come home? ☺️
But I couldn’t have kept it up if there was nobody to read my blogs, so I want to thank you for sticking with me, reading my blogs and supplying me with your comments and ideas. I hope we will keep seeing each other here in future too, and I promise to try and write more interesting things to read.
so, THANK YOU!
Congratulations on your passion for gaming with 100 posts. I just found your blog today from a link in a gaming forum and I understand completely when reading your profile. I am 59 getting ready to turn 60 and I too have a passion for gaming. I am more of a retro gamer having a hard time getting into the more modern gaming consoles. The 3DS I feel more comfortable with, but prefer one and two button gaming of the past like the 16 bit and 8 bit era. I still play on a GBA SP or GB Pocket.
Thank you, I’ve loved making each and every one of my blogs! And I’ve spared my family and friends in the process, as they don’t really understand why I’m so passionate about gaming.
I guess one does tend to want to capture the great feeling one had in their first gaming experiences. For my that was with the DSL, and I’m lucky that I still get to play a lot of games on it. But then, nowadays there are more and more games being released that are more along the lines of retro games, or so I’m told. Like Shovel knight.
Congratulations YvoCaro! Here’s to the next 100!
Thanks Bri Bri, here’s to a happy gaming year!
Congratulations! I discovered your blog a short while ago and I’m planning to explore it in depth. Your mix of reviews, news and general opinions about gaming is highly interesting and I cannot wait to discover more!
On a more general note, you are definitely an inspiration to me as a gamer in their fifties! I’m only in my thirties, but I’ve been gaming for 25 years and I’m firmly planning to do so until my trembling hands cannot hold a controller or press buttons anymore.
At any rate, keep gaming and sharing your passion, ma’am!
Thank you, I’m glad I’ve been able to inspire you. And though my hands don’t tremble yet, but I must confess that I need reading glasses to game these days. But no matter, as long as I’m having fun!
