Welcome to the enchanting world of Bandle Tale: A League of Legends Story. It is an RPG simulation game where you become a yordle in Bandle City. After dedicating 101 years to perfecting your knitting craft, the time has come to venture beyond the familiar. Our review of Bandle Tales: A League of Legends Story is here.
It is a beautiful game, but it needs more tutorials, so in this guide, I’ll detail the important information to keep you on the right track as you embark on a whimsical journey through the vibrant lands of Bandle City.
Whether you’re a newcomer seeking to unravel the mysteries of this realm or a seasoned traveller, this guide can be your companion. So, let’s get started and prepare to be captivated by the magic of Bandle Tale: A League of Legends Story.
Bandle Tale: A League of Legends Story – Backpack Home

Your character possesses a magical backpack, which serves as a portable home. You can drop your backpack when you see the little backpack house icon on the ground; then, you can witness it transform into a snug abode, ideal for crafting, cooking, and hosting gatherings.
Rather than constantly trekking back to your home base, particularly if you tend to forget its location, make it a habit to carry your magical backpack with you throughout your journey. This not only spares you the hassle of retrieving it later but also ensures access to crafting bonuses at certain locations, making it wise to keep it on your back at all times.

Carpets for your Backpack Home
In the game, there are different carpets that you lay out in the front or side of the backpack house for various purposes:
- A vending carpet for selling crafts (toggle on the outside back left of the house)
- A workbench carpet for the crafting machine area (Toggle beside the attached workbench at the front of the house)
- A party carpet for festivals (Toggle in the middle on the left side of the house)
- A cooking carpet for food stands (Toggle on the right-hand side of the house)
Food Stand Carpet

Feeding guests is one way to earn stars. Make sure you stock up on enough food and plates before hosting a Food Stand. Guests will line up at your counter and ask you to cook something delicious for them. You can craft plates in the second tab of the chopping board menu; you will need to have some plates prepared before you can start the food stand mini-game.
You’ll see the dishes the NPCs want above their heads. Each guest will only stay for a little while, so think carefully about how to finish a dish for each of them before they leave. To serve a dish just place it on the serving counter. You can quickly swap the dishes in your hands and immediately place them into the oven. If a dish goes bad, you can always feed it to Dev, the live garbage disposer.
Vending Machine Carpet

Now, you can sell items by putting them in a Vending Machine as there aren’t any shops in Bandle Tales. When you add an item to the machine, simply wait until someone buys the item. Then you can pick up your stars!
Selling goods not only earns stars but also refills the island’s score, and by upgrading the Vending Machine and decorating the carpet, you can improve the sale income modifier.
Throw a Festival Party

To throw a Festival/Party for the NPCs in Bandle Tales, you must use the Festival carpet with various attractions placed on it. As you progress in the game and unlock more skills, you also gain the ability to change and craft new attractions to place on the carpet.
Each Festival will run for a limited amount of time. A guest’s excitement meter will fill up when they experience attractions. When their meter is full, they will generate a ball of Party Yarn. You can collect the Party Yarn from each guest, and you place it into the glowing yellow Orb at the side of the house to earn points.
When planning a festival, choosing the right music and lights also affects what rewards you get from a Festival. In the progress bar of each slot, you can see whether your choice was right. Choose a guest card for the slot.

Green Icon: Green means your choice was perfect, and you get the maximum points; nice!
Yellow Icon: A Yellow icon means you’ll get the average number of points.
Red Icon: A red icon means, unfortunately, you will not get extra points.
Meet the Festival Requirements

Each festival you hold will have different requirements, so when you are inviting guests using the guest cards, keep an eye on the requirements that are shown at the bottom of the Pick a Card Festival screen. The icons on the screen are as follows:
Fire Icon
Eye Icon
Flame Icon
You will also notice that each piece of equipment used during a festival, such as the Party Charm and Flag Stand, and so on, also has a corresponding icon on it, like a flame, eye or fire icon.

You can craft equipment for the Festival, match the equipment with the relevant icon on the Pick Card screen, and place the new equipment on the Festival Carpet.
However, since the festival carpet is small and there are only so many placement spots, you will have to move pieces around to meet the right requirements. It’s a good idea to go for the pieces that give the highest amount of fire, eye or flame icon and preferably a combination of those.
If you don’t have enough room on the carpet to place all the equipment and you need to destroy some equipment and replace it with the higher rated ones. You do get all the resources back again, so you have nothing to lose by playing around with the festival equipment.
How to Make Sure You Have Enough Points to Throw a Festival

If you go to throw a festival party and discover that you can’t, that is because you must have the smiley face points and friendship points (blue and purple bars at the bottom left of the screen) filled up.
Furthermore, to get those smiley face points and friendship points to fill up the bars, you need to throw out the food stand and serve some food. However, to throw a food stand event, you need enough of the green food bowl points. To get the green food points, you will need to sell stuff in your vending machine.
So, to round that up, the vending machine gives you green points, the food stall gives you blue and purple points, and then, finally, you can throw a Festival and make your guests happy.

Workbench Carpet

The workbench carpet allows you to build a crafting area outside of the backpack home. As you progress in the game, eventually, you will be able to have an extra room inside the backpack home to use as a mini-factory for all the crafting you must do.
All the crafting machines can be upgraded as long as you have the items to do so. Eventually, you receive a larger carpet to allow you to place more crafting machines outside your backpack home.
Magical Auras

Once you unlock the Gale-o-meter and attach the workshop carpet and Gale-o-meter to your backpack using the Outdoor Building menu, you can add magical auras to the workbenches. Figuring out the auras took me the longest time to work out, as it’s not explained well in the game at all.
You may have noticed that some map tiles in Bandle Tales have auras that create magic like heat or perception for specific recipes. Later, you can craft your own aura, but if a machine does not make the aura, then you have to use the aura spots on the map tile to use that area’s type of magical aura.

So, for instance, the Magnify Glass icon that you see on the ground in the Abandoned Campus area is the Precision Aura tiles. By placing your outside machinery carpet on that spot and a particular machine you need to use on the aura icon on the ground, you can craft items that have the Precision Aura icon.
Where can you find all the ground title auras in Bandle: Tales: A League of Legends Story? Here’s a handy list to keep you on the right track.
Yarnville: Unity Aura (four circles linked icon)
Dr Nestor’s Hideout: Motion Aura (circle with a cross inside)
University Abandoned Campus Area: Precision Aura (magnifying glass icon)
Inspiration Island: Harmony Aura (musical instrument tile)
Greensprout Grove: Growth Aura (green leaf tile)
Gadgeton: Upcycle Aura (recycle icon) and Heat Aura (flame icon)
As you progress, you will learn to build machines that will craft Aura by using a magic rubber band and unlocking the skill with the aura symbol in the skill tree.
Emotion Orbs Equals XP

In Bandle Tale, you start with three Emotion Orbs, but you can get more Orbs as you progress in the game. Whenever you do an action that makes you feel emotions (XP), your Emotion Orb fills up a little bit. When it’s full, you earn a skill point for your Skill Tree.
To empty your Emotion Orbs and get skill points, you need to sleep in your bed in your house. Just go to your bed and click “Dream and Save.”
You can see how many filled Orbs you have on the top left of the screen, which helps you know when they’re full. Make sure you don’t waste emotions, as you can’t earn any more emotions if all the orbs are full, so sleep right after entering the backpack without doing anything else. If you only fill part of an Emotion Orb, you won’t get the skill point, so it’s much better to fill it all the way. After you wake up, you can do tasks to fill the Orbs.

Many tasks in Bandle Tale: A League of Legends Story will fill your Emotion Orbs, like gathering, crafting, and building. Crafting is the fastest way, especially making Spools early in the game. You can find yarn around the village, which respawns quickly, and then process it at the Spooling Bench to get Spools. But be careful not to craft too many at once, or you might waste emotions; I craft ten at a time.
Later, you can fill your Emotion Orbs by crafting iron, cloth, crystal dust and many more items. Once you have enough materials, craft them and sleep. When you wake up, your crafts will be ready. Keep doing this until you’re low on materials, and you’ll quickly fill your Emotion Orbs to get skills from the Skill Tree.
If you complete the same actions repeatedly in Bandle Tales, you will not earn any emotions from those tasks, so it’s best to vary your actions and always do something different so you always earn emotions.
Badges

In the vibrant world of Bandle Tale, Badges serve as a vital component for character and storyline progression. Badge rewards are not just tokens of achievement but also how you acquire new skills essential for overcoming challenges within the game. To earn Badges, you must take part in various activities, such as completing quests and managing Food Stands.
The game integrates Badge obtaining into its core mechanics so that you naturally encounter and achieve them as you journey through the storyline. Whether it’s embarking on epic quests or attending the bustling Food Stands, each task contributes to the accumulation of Badges and shows your growth within the game world.
While many Badges are earned automatically through quest progression, some require you to meet specific criteria or fulfil certain tasks or quests. For instance, chefs may need to establish and operate Food Stands, offering treats like Baked Beets and Baked Glowana to satisfy hungry patrons, thereby earning the esteemed Head Chef Badge.

Navigating the Badge system is done through the game’s user interface. A glance at the top right corner reveals the current quest Badge being pursued, allowing you to stay focused on your objectives. Additionally, accessing the Badge book by pressing the + key will provide you with a more comprehensive overview of all acquired and pending Badges.
Here, you can manage your quests, toggling between incomplete tasks on the left and complete quests on the right, denoted by a green checkmark upon full completion.

Badges in Bandle Tale also keep you on the right track as far as quests are concerned. By opening the badge menu and clicking on the badges with question marks around the Badge, you can see the quest you must do to complete the Badge. Furthermore, by clicking on the link in the Badge quest screen, you are taken to the map, where the quest giver is highlighted; the links on this page (image above)will also point you to the correct skill to unlock to complete the quest.
Moreover, Badges serve as more than accolades; they unlock access to the Skill Tree along with the skill points you earn from Emotions. By diligently earning Badges, you soon gain entry to the Skill Tree tab, where you can invest skill points to increase your capabilities further.
Skills

As mentioned earlier, the Badges system connects with the Skills system. When you unlock or improve Badges, you gain access to more Skills through the Skill Tree. You can easily access the Skill Tree from the tab menu to see your Badges, upgrade them, and unlock additional Skills without leaving the Badge Book menu.
These Skills fall into four categories: Engineering, Knitting, Magic, and Nature. You can switch between these categories in the Skill Tree menu to find and unlock multiple Skills. To unlock these Skills, you need to earn Emotion points by completing tasks and quests to fill their orbs, which you can then bank or Dream and Save at the bed in your backpack home.
Portals

In Bandle Tale, numerous portals await activation, enabling convenient teleportation to different island areas to accomplish your quests. Unlocking these portals as you explore and uncover new areas is essential for swift revisits, as even the swiftest run can only take you so far.
Portals can teleport you across Bande City in seconds. But since the catastrophe, each journey now costs Portal Yarn. Once a portal is stabilised, it won’t need Portal Yarn anymore.

There are three types of portals:
Not Activated: This means that you have not yet discovered or interacted with the portal.
Activated: This means you’ve found and interacted with the portal.
Stabilised: During certain Festivals, you will receive a special item that can stabilise portals and make the journey free. All portals you’ve activated are marked on the World Map.
Life as a Knitter

As a knitter, your primary task revolves around crafting, and you’ll find yourself immersed in it frequently. Within the natural landscape of Bandle Tale and the islands, a variety of resources can be found, including yarn, leaves, crystals, and even miscellaneous junk.
The junk can be repurposed into wood planks, stone and steel. Since these resources replenish over time, it’s advisable to check for them after each period of rest. Even if you don’t require them immediately, they’ll prove invaluable later on.
Moreover, the process of transforming these resources into crafting materials can be time-consuming. A useful strategy is to utilise your machinery to mass-produce materials while you’re on the move; this way, you will have a steady supply upon your return home. Alternatively, you can initiate this process before resting, waking up to discover a significant portion of your materials already crafted.
When uncertain, unleash your culinary creativity. Apart from throwing parties, indulging in the activity of cooking is among the many joys this game offers. Operating your food stand not only earns you Stars to acquire specific resources and quest items but also replenishes your emotion orbs.
Upgrade your Inventory and Craft Chests

If you love collecting stuff like I do, your inventory can fill up fast. To avoid running out of space, upgrade your inventory when possible. It ensures you have the materials you need and saves time. Or use chests to store items. Craft them at your workbench, and if you’re low on resources, stash items to pick up later at the post box in Bandle City. To upgrade your inventory, go to the inventory screen, scroll down and if you have the correct items crafted, you can unlock three more inventory spaces, giving you more room.
The Map of Bandle Tales: A League of Legends Story

Make use of the map in Bandle Tales, as it is pretty good for pointing you in the right direction. To open the map, use the + button and press right. The first map that will appear is the area your character is in; if you want to see the world map, press the Y button. You can zoom in and out of the map by using the right stick.
Using the ZL and ZR buttons, you can change the map to show the quest you are on and where the location of the quest and quest giver is. Also, you can find out where all the resources you have collected are located on each map; this makes collecting resources very handy, especially if you have forgotten where you found a particular resource. The map also shows you where each Protal in Bandle Tales is; it makes getting around the world easy.
