Over here in the Netherlands it was gorgeous weather today. Balmy, sunny, it was almost like Spring was already here. Anyone who wasn’t bogged down with work made sure they went out for a little stroll to listen to the birds singing their hearts out.
I guess Niantic feels that it’s time to go outside again too: a big update is coming to Pokémon Go this week! Pretty soon more then 80 Pokémon from Pokémon Gold and Silver’s Johto region are being added to the game. Plus, they’ve added Some gender-specific variations of new and existing characters.
From now on there will be special evolution items at PokéStops, which you’ll need to collect and use on characters to evolve them. So some characters need special items to evolve, not just the right amount of candy. I do remember from former Pokémon games that they did this before, like using sun stones to turn Gloom into Bellossom.
Aside from Razz berries you will now find Nanab and Pinap berries at a PokéStops, with the former slowing down the Pokémon and latter giving you additional candy for a successful capture. And lastly, more items will be added to the avatar’s wardrobe options, like new hats, tops, and pants.
The capture screen will look different too, with a carousel on the screen to choose what PokéBalls or berries to use. Will this entice you to go out and catch them all again?
I’m so excited for Johto Pokemon! I’m eagerly awaiting the update to finally reach my part of the world!
I’m really enjoying this update so far. I think I’ve caught 5 or 6 of the new Pokémon… although now I’m regretting all those Evees I’ve been ignoring, since now there are 2 more additional forms for it to evolve into!
Same here, the new ones are springing up left and right. Such a pity that I have sent so many Eevee over to the professor!
