Boots Quest DX is a simple, charming RPG about a boot enthusiast on a quest to find the perfect pair of boots. It is a relaxing adventure game that doesn’t involve anything too complicated and can be played in one sitting.
An Unexpected Adventure
As a boot enthusiast, you decide to venture out of your little home one day to search for the perfect pair of boots. It turns out that the world is a much bigger place than expected, and there are so many things to explore and discover. In your adventure, you meet a diverse cast of weird folk with witty dialogues, help others find lost items, explore snowy terrains and tropical beaches, and collect strange items.
The weird folk you meet have interesting observations about life and will make you think about things you wouldn’t necessarily have thought of. There is no end goal to your adventure; you simply have to collect everything you find in your journey and talk to the quirky folk you meet, which makes this a great game for casual players.
Simple Gameplay and Visuals
The world of the boot enthusiast is easy enough to navigate, although you need to be observant as you might miss an item here and there. Also, there aren’t many buttons you need to press, so I liked that simple aspect of the game.
The character and background design may be very basic, but it doesn’t take away from the story and gameplay. At first, I didn’t like how basic the visuals are. However, as I progressed through my adventure, I came to think of the graphics as endearing and even cute.
A Collecting Game
In addition to finding boots of all sorts, you will also find an assortment of items such as tangerines, black drinks, Pegasus wings, and swords, among many others. If you are the type of player who likes collecting items, then you will enjoy this game. I am a collector in real life myself, so I definitely identified with the boot enthusiast, although my collection consists of games and doll figures!
I have nothing negative to say about this game other than the graphics being a little too basic for my taste. However, Boots Quest DX may be the game for you if you’re in the market for a cute and cosy adventure game. Happy collecting!
Final Verdict: I Like it
