Chase Cold Case

Chase Cold Case Investigations is coming

Some weeks ago I mentioned a new game coming in this Gaming News with Coffee blog. Chase Cold Case investigations will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS eShop sooner then later. Aksys games, who will be publishing the game, gave us October 13 as a release date for both Europe and the Americas. The game will be available as a digital download only.

You could say Chase: Cold Case Investigations is sort of the spiritual successor to Hotel Dusk: Room 215. Cing, the developer behind that game, doesn’t exist anymore. Would you believe it’s already 10 years ago that Room 215 was released on the DS?  The sequel, Last Window: The Secret of Cape West, released in 2010 for the DS. This new game sprouted from the mind of Taisuke Kanasaki, who was the director of the famed Hotel Dusk.

In this new adventure mystery game you have to find leads by diving head first into old investigation notes, crime scene photos and eye witness reports as you put together all the pieces. After you’ve done that, and you have a solid lead, you can interrogate people that seem involved. Ask them questions to see how they react, but if you ask the wrong questions your Interrogation Gauge will deplete. Ask too many wrong questions and it’s Game Over!

Chase Cold CaseThis cold case, dubbed Distant Memories, took place 5 years ago, and the investigation into a mysterious explosion dead-ended without any resolution. At the time they thought it was an accident, but the circumstances surrounding the case were never fully explained. After all this time, a new clue has reignited the case and shed new light on a startling revelation. The Cold Case Unit is searching for the truth and of course, you have to help them find it!

  1. You wouldn’t believe how incredibly excited I am about Chase: Cold Investigations! I’ve been following this game since it got announced. I loved the old Cing games like Hotel Dusk, and I really hope this lives up to them as a spiritual successor! Glad you covered this!

  2. I wasn’t aware of this game, but I really did love Hotel Dusk when I played it ages ago. If Chase is anything like Hotel Dusk, I’ll most likely pick this one up!

We love to hear from you!
