Today the E3-2016 kicked off, a long awaited event in the gaming world. I know a lot of people are super exited, but I cannot help but notice that there’s a marked difference with how I looked at the E3 a couple of years back. I still remember the days when we got our first look at the 3DS, when we were so exited by news about Animal Crossing New Leaf, or when Reggie shared “my body is ready” with us. It must be a matter of gaming taste, but I cannot help but notice that there’s not a huge collection offered by Nintendo, while PlayStation and XBox have a huge event going. Maybe Nintendo makes an impression nonetheless by simply emphasizing pure and beautiful game play.
I won’t pretend to share all E3 news here, there are countless gaming websites that keep us posted pretty well. But I do want to share some clips with you, the ones that stood out to me, all in one place!
First of all, the Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild. What a thing of beauty! I’m a fan of cell shaded Windwaker Link, but this new game, that will be released for the WiiU and the NX, looks so wonderful!
Lots of hype around the new Pokémon games, Sun and Moon. A new Battle system is highlighted, Battle Royal. Looks good huh?
Not by Nintendo this time, but this new Star Trek game will be playable on Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and PlayStation VR. It’s called Star Trek: Bridge Crew VR. The game will be released this autumn. You know I’m always on the lookout for the perfect Star Trek game, but I still haven’t really found it. Maybe this one?
My day just ended, I’m sure more fun things will be shown at the E3 during the upcoming hours. They will have to wait though for tomorrow. Goodnight everyone!
Breath of the Wild took my BREATH away! Mwahahahahahahahaha!
In all seriousness, it looks spectacular.
It does!
Great highlights! It’s amazing how great the couple of Nintendo showings were! I was skeptical about Nintendo’s all-day Zeldathon at first, but they blew me away with Breath of the Wild! Now, I just want more full days of it, haha! Pokemon looks great as well, and I was thrilled to see English gameplay streaming! Star Trek VR looked very interesting, though I’m not completely sold on VR yet. My wife is a Trekkie, so who knows? I might have this one day, haha.
Well, I don’t think I’ll get a VR device anytime soon, I read somewhere that you need some other equipment at the cost of $100 on top of buying the main device too. A little too costly for just one or two games I might want to play on it!
It’s really not worth it unless you really need the best technology and lots of money to spend on something that might not last. I’d like to try it at least once though, as long as I don’t have to pay for it!
I think the new Zelda looks lovely, and supposedly it’s twelve times the size of Twilight Princess. So…pretty huge.
I’m also really excited for Pokemon Sun and Moon. I have Sun pre-ordered, and I love the new Hawaiian/island setting. I can’t wait to hop in there and get started!
Oddly enough, I just did an E3 highlights of my own. None of these were on there, but the pressers did surprise me a bit this year. I’m actually interested in a sports game! That’s literally never happened in nearly thirty years of gaming!
You have some amazing coverage on your website about the E3 my friend! You really dug in and stayed with it!
It’s indeed funny how our tastes differ
Thank you! I super tried.
I love how our tastes differ, though. I hear about all kinds of games from you I might not have were it not for your enthusiasm. 🙂
