Ellentis is a 2025 strategy card game developed and released by Kielan xD.

Gameplay of Ellentis

Ellentis is a card game set in a fantasy world. We combine elements and card levels in a unique circle system.

The cards are organized in decks, and we can choose the style of the card deck. Each deck has its own characteristics. We start with a basic deck, and as the game progresses, we can unlock more. The same applies to the cards as well; we can unlock more variations and upgrades at later stages of the game. The card upgrades allow for easier combos. To unlock new upgrades, we also need to complete specific combos during play. We can also unlock and purchase special powers – active effects such as receiving random bonus cards, burning all the cards in our hand, and receiving new cards, and so on.

Each card has a specific color (red, blue, green, yellow, and brown), a rank ( 1, 2, 3, 4, 5), a material (13 altogether), and an essence, which affects the score of the arrangement in the circle. We place the cards in 5 slots in a circle on the board, and then all created arrangements are scored. The basic principle is to arrange cards so that they form a sequence of repeating colors or numbers – for example, a red 4 card should be followed by a yellow 4 card, and so on.

Ellentis has three difficulty settings – traveler, adept, and hero, with traveler being the easiest and hero being the most difficult. There are two game modes: story mode, where we complete levels, and endless mode, where we play as long as we want without interruptions. In the levelled mode, we follow a map. Each location contains its own level. The entire game consists of 10 acts, each with several levels.

Hovering the mouse over an area will provide you with the conditions to complete the level successfully. For example, Duel of Fate in the first act requires you to score a certain number of points by playing cards. When the road is divided, by choosing one location, we give up the other, and we cannot go back. The game is automatically saved when we enter and exit an area.

On its easiest setting, Ellentis is relatively easy to get through the levels, while the harder difficulty settings make the game more challenging. Besides the changing backgrounds, each level is more or less the same, and at some point, it does get a bit repetitive.

Some Other Things

Ellentis has Steam achievements, but no Trading cards yet. The game has basic audio and graphics settings, as well as options to adject the font size and font color.

Conclusion

If you enjoy card games, you may also appreciate Ellentis. It takes a bit to get used to the rules, but once you get the hang of it, at least on the easier difficulty setting, the levels will be a breeze.

Final Verdict: I Like it. I like it
