Welcome back for another Cup of Coffee, and some catching up on the gaming news that stood out to me! My other job interfered in a big way this week, as I had to go away for a few days. The gaming news might not be up to speed as you are used to, but I still wanted to insert a couple of tidbits to keep you entertained!
Ray Giant, a JRPG for Vita
An upcoming game that caught my eye for the Vita is Ray Giant, a JRPG that will be released in Europe and America in May (download only). This adventure is set in the near future, when giant terrifying creature called Gigants are attacking the earth. Three groups of heroes try to save earth using a mysterious power called the Yorigami. Each group goes through the dungeons telling their own story, attacking Gigants in three way battles. No idea yet what that means, but what caught my eye about this game is that there are also visual novel elements in the game. When your heroes aren’t attacking enemies, there will be adventure elements and event scenes. This might just be a game to watch out for!
MiiTomo Grooves
Do you know who DJ Cutman is? I don’t, to be honest, but he caught my eye because he has made a mix tape featuring 8 songs in a Mii Tomo Grooves, based on the tracks you hear when you play the game on Android or iOS. You’ll be able to download the album immediately from his music by making a donation here.
Another Yokai Watch spin-off
In Japan, YoKai Watch, Romance of the Three Kingdoms has recently been released. This title is a collaboration between Koei Tecmo and Level 5, and is played on the 3DS. The game takes place in the world of Sakura Kingdom, where Jibanyan and other YoKai get sucked into after opening a mysterious book. I do hope this one will make it west too, because this is a strategy RPG that will have you create your own party out of over 400 YoKai. But first, the original YoKai Watch will finally be released in Europe at April 29.
Bravely Second available in America
Bravely Second, the game that I’m still enjoying very much, is available as of today in America. Still unsure? Just give the free 9-hour demo with unique gameplay a try!
Kingdom Hearts Unchained
Thanks once again to Emi, who pointed me towards a new Disney game on iOS and Android: Kingdom Hearts Unchained has been released. I’ve always been so curious about these games, but I could never get to grips with the real time fighting. I’m going to give this one a try to see if it’s for me!
That’s it again, thanks for reading, and I hope to see you again next week!
From what I’ve heard, Yo-kai Watch: Rommance of the Three Kingdoms is really good. Please let it be localized…
I’ll add my pleas to that!
I will probably buy Ray Giant, even if I struggle to complete dungeon crawlers due to their difficulty. I guess there is a chance that the Yokai game will come over here. The Pokemon strategy RPG did get localized after all.
I guess we will have some waiting to do for the new Yokai Watch installments. They are so far ahead of us!
9 hour demo on bravely second! thats crazy! i might have to check out that game! 🙂
