Friday’s Cup of Coffee, wk 2

It’s time, my friends…no more fancy coffee, no more whipped cream, no more cookies to go with it. It’s time to either go on a diet, or to buy myself an entire new wardrobe. I decided to save myself some money and go for the diet. So, this week all I can offer you is black coffee, though I do have some milk and sugar if you want to?

But, let’s not let it spoil our gaming fun! Because the slow weeks when it comes to gaming news are over, and I have more tidbits to share with you.

  • The first game of the series, Bravely Default, was a great hit here in the West for Square Enix. Now it’s time to look forward to the release of the second game in Europe with a release date of February 26th. (No release date yet for America). Bravely Second: End Layer  will also be released as a deluxe edition that looks wonderful, including a Deluxe Artbook, an Agnès Mini Figurine and the Original Soundtrack CD. More importantly though is that the demo will be in the eShop on February 11th, and like in the first game, the achievements in the demo are carried over in the full game!Bravely second, end layer, RPG, deluxe edition.jpg
  • Last week DLC for New Style Boutique; Fashion Forward was made available for free through the European eShop. (Still no releasedate for America). You will be able to download two yukata, Princess Rosalina and Princess Peach style. A yukata by the way is a sort of Japanese kimono used during summer.  New Style Boutique, Peach, rosalina, kimono
  • Another goody coming to the European eShop: Final Fantasy Explorers by Square Enix is to be released on the 29th of January, but you can already pre-purchase the game. If you do you will get a free 3DS Home theme for Final Fantasy Explorers Legendary Characters. The game will be available in America sooner, on January 26. Here’s a bit of the games story:The world is on the brink of war over its reserves of crystals, the planet’s chief source of power. Players must band together to form an elite squad of Explorers on an island rich in crystals, braving hordes of monsters in hopes of conquering a newly discovered Grand Crystal – every Explorer’s dream (from Siliconera).
It’s a game that is particularly focused on online gameplay together with your friends, so I’m guessing that people who love Monster Hunter would love this one too!final fantasy explorers, 3DS, RPG
  • For those of you who are keen on getting every Pokémon under the sun, great news: In 2016, the year that Pokémon celebrates it’s 20th birthday, 11 Mythical Pokemon will be distributed to fans across the U.S. Four of them will only be obtainable at participating GameStop locations, which might be a bit of a challenge. But the other seven will be downloadable through your own wifi. You have to have a copy of Pokemon Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, Pokemon X or Y to be able to receive them. Here’s the lineup for America, dates for Europe haven’t been revealed yet:
    * Mew (February 1-24 at GameStop)
    * Celebi (March 1-24 via Nintendo Network)
    * Jirachi (April 1-24 via Nintendo Network)
    * Darkrai (May 1-24 at GameStop)
    * Manaphy (June 1-24 via Nintendo Network)
    * Shaymin (July 1-24 via Nintendo Network)
    * Arceus (August 1-24 at GameStop)
    * Victini (September 1-24 via Nintendo Network)
    * Keldeo (October 1-24 via Nintendo Network)
    * Genesect (November 1-24 at GameStop)
    * Meloetta (December 1-24 via Nintendo Network)celebi, pokemon, mythical, distribution

Enough for today, wouldn’t you say? My coffee has gone cold, I think I’m going to make a new one and get a salad while I’m at it. See you again next week, and….happy gaming!

    1. I’m not sure yet, Britta. I played a bit of the demo last year on the Japanese 3DS, and I don’t think it’s my kind of game. Reminded me of Monster Hunter, I got totally lost in no time! I’ll give it another look.

  1. I wantet to order the Deluxe Edition of Bravely Second, but the prices are just ludicrous, ranging from 160 to 240 euros. I am quite shocked by such high prices, because the special editions of Vita games are usually much cheaper! So despite my love for special editions, I’ll pass on this one and will rather get the game alone.

  2. Black coffee it is (I drink it that way anyway, with cinnamon and nutmeg). And yes, salad for lunch. Great post. I didn’t realize Pokemon is 20 years old. Wow!

We love to hear from you!
