Another week come and gone, isn’t it amazing how fast the weeks fly by towards the end of the year? Let’s take a breather and enjoy our cup of coffee (or tea), tell me all about your week. Did you participate in the crazy sales after Thanksgiving in the US? And if you live in the Netherlands, have you been busy with the children, preparing for Sinterklaas? I bet most children are super exited by now, the weeks leading up to Sinterklaas are always a whirl of suspense for them. They can put their shoe in front of the fireplace every night, in hopes that Sinterklaas’ helpers find it and put some nice candy in there. Singing Sinterklaas songs before going to be always helps too, or so we tell the children.
But, time for some gaming news.
- Good news for those of you who live in Europe and haven’t had a chance yet to play the newest Harvest Moon game, that cannot carry the name Harvest Moon anymore. Story of Seasons will be released on December 31st in Europe! Strange date right? But what better way to start the new year?
- The Japanese people who are a fan of Happy Home Designer are lucky: they have gotten to design for new client through Spotpass who wanted a home like a game store. Now who wouldn’t want that? Items included for the furnishing of the home include a display shaped like a GameBoy, 3DS and Wii U video and game displays, a Nintendo New 3DS, New 3DS XL, and Wii U that can be placed on a table, and of course a rack filled with virtual Amiibo.
- Today sees the European release of Mario & Luigi, Paper Jam. No doubt another fine example of an RPG about the mustached brothers. I’m not a big fan of Mario, but I must say the RPGs in the series are very good. At the moment I’m smothered in games, so I’ll pass, but it sure looks great. If you order the game from the Nintendo UK store, you will get a free papercraft set.
The PlayStation Store in the Netherlands has some amazing sales going on at the moment. Many games are being offered under € 15,00. Now I don’t know about the stores in other countries, but online there is talk about Discount for the 12 days of Christmas. So if you own a Vita or a Playstation console and are in the mood for some good bargains, you should check it out. The discounts are valid untill December 24th. I’ve seen all Lego games mentioned, and saw my game of the month September, Ar NoSurge for only€ 14,95, as well as Atelier Mereru!
- The registration for the successor to Club Nintendo, Nintendo Accounts, has gone live in Japan. You can link you Nintendo ID but also Twitter, Facebook and Google+. If you have it linked to your Nintendo ID you are able to browse and purchase software using your smartphone of computer. And then, when you get home, the game will be waiting for you on your console.
Enough for now, right? I’ve gotta go and shop for some presents, lots of wrapping still to do. Let’s meet again next week, okay?
I only did a little shopping on black friday lol. I just picked up some DVDS and Pokemon cards on sale. It wasn’t crazy like other years though. It was sort of dead in the morning and when I left more people were arriving.
I guess more and more people order from the internet? I know that we do, even though we live 15 minutes away from the shops…
Releasing a game at the end of the year is bizarre. Most people will be broke after doing their Xmas shopping.
I agree, it was January 8th initially, which wasn’t much better of course.
These “Cup of Coffee” posts of yours are so cosy! It really makes me want to brew a warm cup of tea and to read wrapped in a blanket. But then again, the cosiness and overwhelmingly positive vibe of your blog is one of the things that drew me to it!
I didn’t indulge in Thanksgiving sales, but I ordered a couple of games that are on their way to me, including a physical copy of Moco Moco Friends. Right now, I’m postponing every purchase until the end of Christmas because of the huge Christmas traffic in the post industry, but I’ll start hunting for games again after that! There are so many appetizing games slated for release in early 2016, I cannot wait to purchase them all!
Have a nice week-end! 🙂
Wonderful, that is entirely my intention, to create a comfy atmosphere of us drinking a cuppa together.
I’m playing Moco Moco too, at least, I am rather slowly. Got so many good games going at the moment it’s difficult to chose. The text in Moco sometimes is a bit sassy, isn’t it? For a game aimed at kids primarily!
The weekend is almost over, but I wish you a good working week
