Gaming News Daily – Friday 28th June

The end of another week is upon us.  Tonight we have news about a new game collection from Way Forward, good news for Nintendo and Activision from E3, and news a new demo for a much-anticipated game on the eShop.

Mighty Switch Force Collection coming to Switch

Way Forward is bundling four Mighty Switch Force titles together and releasing them as one title on the eShop in July.  According to an official press release, the bundle features:

“Four fantastic games in one: Mighty Switch Force!, Mighty Switch Force! Hyper Drive Edition, Mighty Switch Force! 2, and Mighty Switch Force! Academy.”

The press release also lists the following key features: (slightly edited by me)

  • Use your helmet to switch around level layouts and solve tricky puzzles!
  • Blast enemies and extinguish flames with your Pellet Shooter and Infinity Dousing Apparatus!
  • Meet colourful characters like Corporal Gendarmor, Ugly Twitching Dog, and Ugly Secret Baby!
  • Numerous hazards and other elements such as Launch Blocks and Force Field Blocks to navigate more than 70 levels!
  • Up to four players can join in locally in Mighty Switch Force! Academy!
  • Newly added HD Rumble effects on Nintendo Switch!

The Mighty Switch Force Collection will launch for Nintendo Switch on 25th July.

Luigi and Crash are E3 2019 Winners

Every year, media outlets vote to select their top games of the conference and Luigi’s Mansion 3 has won the best Family/Social game.  Activision Crash’s also obtained the Best Racing game award for Crash Team Racing.

Personally, I can’t wait to get my hands on Luigi’s Mansion 3.  The new game-play elements look fantastic, and the hotel looks bizarre.  I’m also interested in Crash Team Racing too, but I’m still undecided whether to purchase it or not.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 Demo now Available

Players interested in the upcoming title Dragon Quest Builders 2 can now download a demo via the eShop.  The Demo “gives builders a taste of the gameplay while introducing the brand new story and characters, as they prepare in their battle against the Children of Hargon to bring the power of creation back to the land.”  (Press Release)

Square Enix has also released a new trailer showing off some new features within the game.

Have you played the Dragon Quest Builders 2 demo?  Will you purchase the game when it releases on Switch next month?

Accessible Fighting Game Coming to Switch

Are you interested in beat-em-up titles but find combos and special moves hard to pull off?  If you do, then Fantasy Strike from Sirlin Games may be the title for you.  Advertised as a game for everyone, Fantasy Strike allows players to pull off moves with simple button presses.  The game is more tactical than typical fighting games for it challenges players to be fast and clever with their brains rather than multiple button combos.

O yes, the game’s designer is David Sirlin, who just so happened to be the lead designer behind Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix

Fantasy Strike will be available for Switch via the eShop on 25th July.
