Well, it’s that time again, time for the gaming news that stood out to us this week!
This week we have news about The Academy: the First Riddle, survive the Coma 2: Vicious Sisters, Space Cute’em up B.ARK, My Talking Tom Friends on mobile is coming, Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break, Kickstarter Inkulinati looks promising. But first I want to share this:
It gets harder and harder to live the life of an ostrich
Years ago I confessed: I’m an Ostrich. No, not in the real sense of the word obviously, but figuratively speaking. I tended to shy away from the news in the real world. A year ago I wrote a new a article about this, saying how it was getting harder and harder to ignore all that’s happening around us, living in a world where bigots and belligerent people can have their say at the cost of others.
That has never been more true in this year 2020. Couldn’t stay away anymore from all the misery Covid-19 is still bringing about. And one can’t ignore what happened in Minneapolis, which was the last drop in the bucket for many.
In that same article (which you can find here) I wrote in relation to the site:
“LadiesGamers is as it should be: about video games and the fun that comes out of enjoying games together. Tolerance and respect for each other is what it should be about, and that is what we strive for. No matter whether you are a woman, man, gay or hetero, whether you believe in God, Allah or no higher power at all. It’s the joy of gaming that brings us together.”
At the time I didn’t even think to add “people of all color”. But looking back, I think it’s important to add: “whether you are a woman or man of any color or walk of life” And I’d like to stress once more: Tolerance and Respect is what it’s all about!
Inspired by Harry Potter: The Academy – The first Riddle
The people behind the Faraway puzzle adventure series, Pine Studios, are bringing us their latest Harry Potter and Professor Layton-inspired title. The Academy: The First Riddle will launch June 19 on Steam on on Mobile.
The game will place players in the shoes of Sam, a freshman at Arbor’s famed, yet mysterious, Academy. Over the course of this roughly 20-hour adventure, fans will sink their teeth into over 200 puzzles and riddles scattered across the campus. The puzzles will guide the players through the central story of the game and the mystery looming over the school. When fans aren’t busy unraveling the school’s past, they’ll be able to engage in a host of fun activities with an array of memorable characters.
The people over at Pin Studios are big fans of Harry Potter, so the school is greatly inspired by Hogwarts, but it’s also inspired by the architecture of their own city, Zagreb.

Survive The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters
Korean survival-horror adventure, The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters, arrives on June 19 for PS4 and Nintendo Switch, with Xbox One to be released later in the year. Developed by Devespresso Games and published by Headup, The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters is an atmospheric, story-driven exploration in the shadow world with hand-illustrated manhwa (Korean manga) aesthetics.
This second game continues the dark story introduced in The Coma: Recut with a new protagonist, Mina Park, a side-character from the first game. Players unfamiliar with the first game’s story will have no trouble diving in. You must survive a sinister shadow realm while eluding the clutches of a relentless, psychotic slasher. While on the run, players must balance exploration and dangerous encounters to survive the night or suffer multiple endings and possible perma-damage. Distinctly Korean with lore going back for decades, The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters explores the universal themes of friendship, bullying, and the pressures of academic achievement.
Space Cute’em up B.ARK
One of the game that was featured in the Indie World Showcase was B.ARK (Bio-Interstellar Ark) is a team-based 4-player side-scrolling space cute’em up launching first on Switch in Fall 2020. In B.ARK, you and your animal friends pilot ferociously adorable and uniquely powerful ships, defeating waves of sea creature cyborgs in order to save the earth!

My Talking Tom Friends on mobile is coming
Outfit7 Limited, said to be the world’s leading creator of virtual pet mobile games, announced a few weeks ago that their new title, My Talking Tom Friends, will be available to download worldwide from June 12, 2020. And with download, we are talking about Apple and Google Play Store.
Personally, I’m not with the game series. But it did astound me that My Talking Tom Friends has had over 7 Million pre-registrations!
You can interact with all of the characters. And like in previous games in the series, in My Talking Tom Friends, you can customize anything and everything in these charming animals’ homes. For example, you could change all the decor in the living room, choose new furniture for the kitchen, or add your own unique touch to the garden. You can also take your friendly pets on entertaining adventures in various parts of the city.
It certainly looks cute and colourful, but there’s always the risk of a lot of multi transactions. We will keep you updated, meanwhile check out the trailer:
Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break
The game series combines tower defense strategy with a rolling ball mechanic similar to games such as Super Monkey Ball. The aim of the game is to use a large stone boulder to attack the enemy’s castle at the bottom of the hill, while using various defensive structures to defend your own.
Now this competitive tower defense and arcade action rolled up with quirky, Monty Python-esque humor is coming to Steam on June 9, and to consoles (including Switch) on June 23. See what you can expect for the gameplay:
Kickstarter Inkulinati looks promising
Interesting name: Inkulinati will be a turn-based strategy with medieval animals, where you have to become a master of the Living Ink and lead your illustrated animal army on the pages of medieval books. Now, how’s that for a description?
As I already stated, in Inkulinati, you will play the role of a Master of Living Ink, also known as the titular Inkulinati. They are a legendary group who battle one another on the pages of medieval manuscripts. They fight by drawing beasts with the Living Ink. Thanks to this magical substance, those creatures come to life and an epic battle ensues.
For each Inkulinati Master you defeat, you will learn the inner secrets of their drawing techniques, allowing you to draw more units and build the ideal army that can take on the next boss. I must say, the graphics of the project look stunning and the game sounds intriguing.
As I mentioned, it’s a game that is being funded now, with an expected release in Q2 2021. They need € 17.638 and the target for this is already met: at the time of writing 1.087 backers have pledged € 31.315. The Kickstarter will come to Steam first and is still needing funding to reach the Switch tier, but it looks promising! You can the kickstarter here.
