Gaming News Weekend 3

It’s that time again, time for the weekend gaming news! This weekend, we’ve got news about: a new petition for the sequels of Magicians Quest, accessories aplenty for Animal Crossing New Horizons, Coffee Talk coming to Switch, as well as Best Friend Forever and a Steam release coming for Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD.

A new Magicians Quest petition

Years ago a petition was doing to rounds in an effort to persuade Konami  to bring the 3DS sequels of Magicians Quest to the West. In 2009, some years after Animal Crossing Wild World was released for the DS, we were surprised with a quirky little game called Magician’s Quest, Mysterious Times in 2009. That was the title for the game in the US, here in Europe we got the game too, it was called Enchanted Folk and the School of Wizardry.

I had the pleasure of playing the sequels that were so much bigger then the original on my Japanese 3DS and writing about it. (More about the games here). So I was pleasantly surprised to see another petition, trying to make Konami see that there is money to be earned here!

If you want to sign the new petition, you can find it here.

Accessories for Animal Crossing New Horizons

Many years ago, when Animal Crossing Wild World was my daily gaming fix, I was overjoyed when a fellow gamer sent me an AC dangle for Christmas. In fact, I still have it! Now, many years later, lots of great merchandise is announced for the upcoming Switch game New Horizons.

Hori has already announced an entire line of goodies to get you in the mood:

And now, Keys Factory has added their own take on New Horizons. Licensed by Nintendo, you can check out the goodies on Playasia.

Coffee Talk coming to Switch

As you might know, Seattle is the birthplace of coffee giant Starbucks. Is it a coincidence that visual novel game Coffee Talk takes place in the same city? This however is an alternate Seattle: a city where elves, orcs, mermaids, and many other fantasy races live together with humans in a modern world we are familiar with.

Coffee Talk is a game about listening to people’s problems and help them by serving a warm drink out of the ingredients you have. It is a game that tries to depict our lives as humanly as possible, while having a cast that is more than just humans.

Might be a fun game if you like storylines as much as I do, as it also combines it with management elements. And if given half a chance, we will review it for you on here!

Best Friend Forever combining dog care with dating

Still some time away, but Switch game Best Friend Forever looks like a fun combination between caring for your four legged friend and dating. After settling in Rainbow Bay, you’ll have to take care of your cute dog. As we remember from Nintendogs, it involves playtime, your pet will need to be fed, groomed and sometimes you will need to pick up after them. Raise your dogs stats and pass Paws Academy.

Go out with your dog, and find like-minded people in Rainbow Bay. Of course everyone who lives here is pet friendly, so you will be sure to have something to talk about. Sounds fun! The American eShop mentions the game for release on May 14th.

Steam release coming for Kofi Quest: Alpha MOD

Kickstarter Kofi Quest is pleased to report that the Steam version for Windows systems is almost there: on January 28th. If you chose a Steam key as your reward for co-funding the game, you can expect that between January 22nd and January 24th.

Although the original plan for a release on Switch still stands, there is no date yet. The developers have more work then they expected for the Switch version, so we will have to wait some more.

That’s it for this week, enjoy your gaming!

We love to hear from you!
