Gaming News Weekend 6

It’s that time again, time for the weekend gaming news! With news about Animal Crossing New Horizons can be downloaded now, Moving Out has a date, Railway Empire coming to the Switch, Start your Fairy Tail at the end of June and a big free update for Wargroove.

Animal Crossing New Horizons can be downloaded now

I know many of you will pre-order Animal Crossing New Horizons in physical form. But if, like me, you’re thinking of downloading it: it can now be bought in the eShop. Of course, you’ll still have to wait to play it until March 20th, but still….

According to Nintendo UK, “digital pre-orders for Animal Crossing: New Horizons will unlock the full copy of the game at midnight and you can start playing right away”

BUT: The download screen in the eShop confirms that there is no cloud save..at least not at release. Nintendo stated:

This game does not support Nintendo Switch Online Cloud Saves, but we are currently looking into a customized method for backing save data up that will be specific to this game in the event that your Nintendo Switch is damaged or lost. This function will be limited to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers. The timing of implementation is undecided and will be announced as soon as it is finalized.

This has me worried. But what if a year from now I decide to get another Switch model? Can I then transfer my game for one console to the other? I must say, buying physical is may still be the road I will take.

Moving Out has a date!

Do you like playing together with friends? On April 28th, the new couch co-up is to be released on the Switch (and PS4, Xbox and PC). In Moving Out, you’ll be relocating furnishings in increasingly bizarre locations in a fast-paced furniture moving simulator.

Choose from a roster of movers and style them to suit you. Move through sleepy suburbs, frenzied farms, haunted houses and even head into space to keep customers happy!

Of course you can also play alone, but I bet the game is going to be more fun when you team up with up to three friends locally.

Railway Empire coming to the Switch

If you like tycoon games, you’ll be pleased to know Railway Empire is coming to the Nintendo Switch. The game has been out on PS4 and Steam for some time, but the Switch version will be the first one to play on the go. Releasedate has been postponed though from February 14 to March 27.

This new edition of the game includes the main game (with all added content and improvements since its initial launch), alongside the Mexico DLC, Crossing the Andes DLC, and The Great Lakes DLC. The Germany DLC, France DLC, and Great Britain & Ireland DLC will also be available as additional purchases via the Nintendo eShop.

Create an elaborate and wide-ranging rail network by purchasing over 40 different trains modelled in extraordinary detail, building railway stations, maintenance buildings, factories and tourist attractions to stay ahead of the competition. Maybe it’s because I used to work at the Dutch Railway Company, but it sounds like real fun!

Start your Fairy Tail at the end of June

Koei Tecmo and Gust’s Fairy Tail was originally slated for March 19th, but is now postponed to June 25th. The game is based on the fantasy adventure comic about Natsu, a Dragon Slayer of the rowdy Fairy Tail magician guild. He and his unique group of friends battle against no less unique and memorable enemies. Fairy Tail was published in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine, selling over 60 million copies worldwide.

In this JRPG you complete requests, strengthen friendships, and upgrade the guild’s facilities to increase the Guild Rank. The higher the rank, the more challenging requests are. Fight and prevail to become the #1 guild in the Kingdom of Fiore and beyond!

Big free update for Wargroove

For those of you who already own a copy of Wargroove, you’ll be pleased to know that there’s DLC available.

Designed with co-op play in mind, this expansion adds a new story campaign that introduces the new playable Outlaw faction.

After an unexpected kidnapping and some severe ransom demands, your group of rogues have no choice but to perform the biggest heist that Aurania has ever seen…But do you have the strategic chops to get the job done?

So team up and lead the Outlaw faction to strategic victory, with new criminal Commanders in Wargroove: Double Trouble!

That’s it from us, have a great gaming weekend!
