If your idea of a perfect afternoon involves sipping tea, writing poetry, and soaking in the gentle rhythms of the British countryside, then Sips and Sonnets might be your next favorite escape.
Launching on September 12th, 2025 for Windows and Mac via Steam, this fully-voiced cozy visual novel from indie studio Blue Tango Street invites players to step into the slippers of an elderly woman enjoying her retirement. With one-hand gameplay, you can literally drink tea while you play: no frantic clicking, just peaceful storytelling.
About Sips and Sonnets
The title of the game, Sips and Sonnets, with its subtitle Make Tea and Write Poetry as an Old Lady, instantly made Paula and me smile. As two women in our 60s running this passion project, LadiesGamers, and with a coffee cup proudly featured in our logo, it felt like Sips and Sonnets was speaking directly to us. High time for another game with an elderly lady as the protagonist!
So what can you expect from this game?
- Tea brewing mechanics that pair beautifully with the game’s slow-paced charm
- A poetry minigame that lets you express yourself through gentle wordplay
- Voice acting by Bethan Dixon Bate (Baldur’s Gate 3, Vermintide) and Lenval Brown (Disco Elysium)
