Harvey’s island plaza shops were newly introduced in the massive Animal Crossing New Horizons 2.0 Update released on November 4th, 2021. Here at LadiesGamers, we already have a guide on Harvey’s Phototopia in his little house at the front of the island. So it was only natural that we thought a guide on the new additions to his island was the next step. You can also find all our Animal Crossing New Horizons guides here, including a guide for Happy Home Paradise.
Harv’s Island
Harv’s island with the photo studio unlocks once you get three villagers living on your island. Then, he’ll give you a call and invite you to fly over to his island via the airport. If you have already been to Harv’s Island, you’ll receive a letter from Harv in your mailbox to find out that he has something to tell you once you visit his island.
To get to Harv’s Island, you have to talk to Orville the Dodo at the airport. To travel to Harvey’s Island, you click on I Want To Fly and then Visit Harv’s Island, and you’re whisked off to visit his island.
Harv and Harriet
After arriving on the dock from there, you’ll head straight up past the photo studio and into the island plaza marketplace. You’ll be greeted by both Harv and Harriet, who have lots to tell you about the shopping plaza they’re opening.
The shopping plaza contains a variety of shops from many of the special characters that pay a visit to your island with their wares. Even though Harv’s plaza has many new shops, the special characters that run the shops will still visit your island as they usually do. So let’s see who they are.
- Katrina (fortune shop)
- Saharah (rugs and wallpapers)
- Tortimer – Storage Access.
- Re-tail (Reese and Cyrus’ customisation shop)
- Leif (bushes and crop starts)
- Redd (paintings and sculptures)
- Kicks (shoes, bags, and socks)
- Shampoodle (Harriet’s hair salon)
When you arrive, you will notice that the land behind Harv’s house has been extended into a shopping plaza. To get it up and running, you need to pay each of the Lloids 100,000 Bells. Unfortunately, you can only pay one Lloid per day, and the following day a shop will be open.
Katrina (5 am – 1 am)
Starting on the left of the shopping plaza is Katrina’s stall.
Katrina will read your fortune to you once a day. For 1,000 Bells, you can choose to learn about your luck that day or to learn about your friendship with another.
If you have your fortune told and Katrina reveals you will have bad luck, you may suffer these effects for the day. The selling prices of items are lower; you’ll receive less money from rocks and trees. Depending on the time of year, you are also more likely to encounter Tarantulas, Wasps, or Scorpions. Your character can trip and fall, dropping items they are carrying in their hand.
Katrina will offer you a purification ritual for a fee of 10,000 Bells. A purification ritual can reverse the bad fortune you have received. However, Katrina asks you once if you want a purification ritual performed if you say NO, you don’t get the option again for purification, so choose wisely.
If you choose to learn about friendship, Katrina will ask you to select one of your island neighbours. Then, Katrina will give you an insight into your friendship rating with that islander.
If you don’t interact much with a certain islander, she will likely tell you that your bond with them is fine or low. So Katrina offers to say a prayer for the fee of 10,000 bells to strengthen your friendship bond with that particular islander. If Katrina says your bond with that villager is strong, then she won’t offer the prayer.
Saharah (5 am – 12 am)
The camel Saharah sells mysterious rugs and mysterious flooring. Sometimes, you can even get some moving wallpaper and moving wallpaper from her.
The items that Saharah has available to sell change every week. Each week she’ll offer two Mysterious Floorings and Wallpapers, as well as four types of rugs. Of course, these items will not be the same ones she’ll be selling on your island when she visits that week. So you now have double the chances of getting that mysterious wallpaper or flooring of your dreams.
Tortimer 5am – 11pm
Old-timer Tortimer offers you access to your storage while you are in the shopping plaza. With the storage access, you can take out and add items to your storage without any fees.
During the Autumn/ Fall season, Tortimer appears as Cornimer. The first time you speak to him each day, he’ll offer you ten acorns. Nice! You can still access his normal service when he appears as Cornimer.
Re-tail (5 am – 12 am)
At Reese and Cyrus’ customisation shop, you can customise leaf items of furniture for a fee of bells. Cyrus is a master at customisation and can customise any furniture item with variations in colours or styles.
Lamposts, arches and benches can all be customised and items such as the Nook Mile furniture.
When speaking to Cyrus, you’ll see the leaf furniture you’re carrying in your pocket. Items of furniture that can’t be customised will be greyed out. Things that only Cyrus can customise will have a small blue Cyrus icon next to them. It is a very convenient service Cyrus offers. Just make sure you have lots of Bells to pay him.
Leif (5 am – 11 pm)
Leif offers a few different services, the main one being that he sells crops, shrubs and flower seeds. You will find new crops, shrubs and seeds in his shop each week.
Leif offers a new island weeding service allowing you to pay him to remove all the weeds in your island for 100,000 Bells! The following day your island will be weed-free, and the weed’s Leif has collected can be found in the recycling box in the islands Resident services. You can also sell him clumps of weeds for more money than you would get by selling them in Nooks Cranny.
Redd (5 am – 1 am)
Redd is a sly fox who sells artwork. The artwork is sometimes real and sometimes fake he also sells furniture. Redd’s stock updates once a week. Unless you buy an item, it is replaced by a new item the following day. You can only buy one item per day. As usual, you’ll need to wait until the next day to receive the item in the mail.
You’ll notice the small box that Redd is standing beside, Redd’s Raffle. For a fee of 500 Bells, you can pick a raffle ticket from the box and win a prize. Each ticket has a number corresponding to the prize, and you’re guaranteed to win each time. But, of course, you can keep buying tickets as much as you want, so what are you waiting for!

Shampoodle
Harriet doesn’t require a donation to unlock. Instead, she stands next to a salon stool in the middle of the plaza. If you talk with her, Harriet offers to cut your hair in a new hairstyle for free.
Accept, and she’ll give you a brand-new hairstyle that you can’t learn anywhere else. If you tell her you don’t like it, she’ll revert your hair back to its original style. She’ll teach you the hairstyles so you can always change them whenever you use a vanity or mirror on your own island.
Have Fun!
