Handheld game of the Year 2016

Usually you will find Handheld gaming news here, accompanied by a good cup of coffee. Today though, as it is the last day of 2016, it’s about time to choose the handheld game of the year. You all voted, so let’s look at the results.

Ladiesgamers’ 3DS game of 2016

The 3DS game that was your clear favorite is Pokémon Sun and Moon. It got 21% of the votes. In second place was Fire Emblem Fates, with 15%, followed closely by YoKai Watch 2 that got 13% of the votes.

These 3DS games, released in 2016, made my Game of the Month list this year:

  • Bravely Second: End Layer
  • Fire Emblem Fates ( Birthright)
  • Style Savvy 2, Fashion Forward
  • Pokémon Moon

My own choice for 3DS Game of the Year is a different one then Pokémon though. I judge it purely based on how immersed I was in a game at the time of playing it. And that narrows it down to three games for me: Bravely Second and Style Savvy. Both got 6% of your votes in the poll.

In the end though, I will choose Bravely Second End Layer as my 3DS game of the year, with an honorary mention of Animal Crossing New Leaf Welcome Amiibo. Not really a game that was released this year, just updated. But a great updated addition to the game!

Ladiesgamers’ Vita game of 2016

The Vita game of the Year in Vita games was a close call. Dragon Quest Builders won out in the end, with 22% of your votes. In a shared second place is Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma and World of Final Fantasy with 19% of the votes.Dragon Quest Builders, ladiesgamers.com

These Vita games that were released in 2016 made it to be my game of the month this year:

  • Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth
  • Atelier Sophie and the Mysterious Book
  • World of Final Fantasy
  • Dragon Quest Builders

Tough choice, as I still love playing them all. As a matter of fact, I’ve picked Atelier Sophie up again and am having fun with it. But looking at the game that I played most fanatically, I will have to go with your choice: Dragon Quest Builders is my Vita game of the year.

Ladiesgamers’ Mobile game of 2016

With a very clear difference, Pokémon Go is mobile game of the year. 41% of voters choose that one, with Mystic Messenger and YoKai Watch Wibble Wobble in share date second place. Both had 19% of the votes.pokemon Go

I can be short here: the only Mobile game that made it to my Game of the Month was Pokémon Go, so that’s the one that is my Mobile favorite this year!

So there you have it. Now I’m going to get busy baking some Oliebollen to make sure we celebrate New Years Eve I never style. I wish you have very happy and above all healthy 2017, with lots of inspired gaming!
