Handheld Gaming News week 27

Come on in for another week of handheld gaming news! If you’ve visited before you will know by now that a nice cup of coffee or tea is included. But with the site dressing up for Summer I felt it’s time for a slight change on here. I realised last week that you must think I’m sitting down with calorie heavy cups of coffee and whipped cream and all the trimmings.

Actually, you won’t be far off, as we find an excuse to drink coffee somewhere in town very often. But from now on these handheld gaming news blogs won’t be marked by a yummy picture of a cup of coffee anymore. Instead, they will be marked by a MiiTomo picture, conveying in a better way that it’s about gaming.

With that said, let’s talk about gaming news!

Switch mobile app finally coming!

During this weeks Nintendo Direct livestream, Nintendo revealed that the companion app for online play will reach us on July 21, in time for the launch of Splatoon 2. It’s called the Nintendo Switch Online, an app to communicate online with other players. Splatoon 2 players will also use it as SplatNet 2 that will track Splatoon players’ play history, gear, and other stats.

For now though, it’s just sending invites to your friends via their Nintendo Account or social media, and facilitating voice chat over your device’s microphone. Nothing yet about in-app messaging. For now it will be for free, in future we will have to pay for online services.switch online, splatoon 2

Windwaker Lobster shirt will come to Breath of the Wild

DLC pack 1 has only recently been released, and we already got news about DlC Pack 2. The Windwaker lobster shirt will be a part of the DLC set that will be released this holiday season in winter 2017.

American Hey! Pikmin website is open

The Hey! Pikmin game for the 3DS will reach us on July 28. Now, the American website is up. On the website is gameplay info, screenshots, and even some footage. The footage is a collection of small clips that show off the game. I’ve been trying to find the demo in the American eShop but I haven’t found it. Weird, as I’m sure some of you have already the demo a try.

Catch Pikachu with Ash cap

Pokémon Go celebrates it’s first birthday on July 6 (for America and Oceania) and July 13 (for Europe). To help in the festivities, you can now catch a Pikachu with a Ash cap, just like you could catch him with a party hat in the past, or a santa hat. You can catch him till July 24.

You can also buy a Anniversary Box for 1200 coins. It includes 6 egg incubators, 6 mx revives, 2 premium raid passed and 20 ultra balls.

Layton’s Mystery Journey price for mobile set

Only a couple more weeks to wait before you can buy Layton’s Mystery Journey:Katrielle and the Millionaires’ Conspiracy will set you back $15,99 on iOS and Android on July 20. The game will support English, Japanese, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, German, and Korean language options.

Fate/ EXTELLA the Umbral Star on Switch

Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star has been available before on the PS 4 and the Vita since January 2017. Now this action game will come to the Switch on July 21 in Europe and July 25 in America. This version comes with some extras: over 30 previously-released paid DLC costumes along with an exclusive new Unshackled Bride outfit.

Check out the trailer for this action RPG. See if you’re gonna go for the skimpy bikini’s!

Sales Japanese games in the Playstation Store

The PlayStation Store has a lot of games on offer of Japanese making! If you are waiting to pick up games like the Atelier games, Digimon Story or World of Final Fantasy, this is your chance. You can check it out here.

LINE has Ever Oasis stickers

LINE, the instant messaging service that is extremely popular in Japan, has some of the best sticker sets. Recently,  Nintendo added Ever Oasis stickers. Aren’t they super cute? Thanks Japanesenintendo.com for the tip!

So that’s it for this week, hope you enjoyed reading. I’m trying to get some more hours into Breath of the Wild as well as Ever Oasis this weekend. And meanwhile, HayDay is dragging me in and being a little addictive time waster.

Anyway, enjoy your gaming weekend and let’s meet again here next week to chat some more about handheld gaming!

    1. Thank you!
I know I shouldn’t bother you, but it’s such a pity that the Millionaire’s Digest blog is still going nowhere, still pending review!

      1. I received a email from K&L a couple of days ago apologizing and informing everyone he is quite far behind. Evidently some issues and a lot on his plate. He is trying to get the magazine going, which is taking a lot of his time. I don’t believe he has many editors reviewing posts so it must take some time. Hopefully, it won’t be long for someone to review your post.

        1. Thank you for your reply, I much appreciate it. I was wondering if maybe a gaming section isn’t what he wants in the digest. But I do understand there must be so many posts to review!

We love to hear from you!
