In-game screenshot from 'Jewel Legends: Tree of Life' depicting a whimsical underground cavern illuminated by the soft glow of mushroom-shaped structures. Various fantastical buildings resembling oversized mushrooms with windows and doors are connected by wooden bridges and ladders. A gold telescope on a pivoting arm extends from one building, pointing upwards. The environment is rich with verdant green vines and roots, hinting at the vitality of the Tree of Life. The user interface at the bottom displays a Play button and other game options, with a message above indicating, 'This building is done! Select another building site you want to use, or play another level.' Published on: LadiesGamers.
The Hods’ Village

In Jewel Legends: Tree of Life, we have to save and restore the magical Tree of Life from the demon of greed and thus rebuild the world of the Hods, a special kind of mystical being.

The Gameplay Jewel Legends: Tree of Life

Jewel Legends: Tree of Life is a classic Match 3 puzzle game. We have three game modes – Adventure, Tournament, and Freeplay.

The tournament allows you to play and compare your results to other players on your computer. It’s not multiplayer by a long shot; it looks like a feature from an old game before the Steam era. Freeplay is basically endless mode; playing without levels and timers.

A vibrant match-3 puzzle game interface from 'Jewel Legends: Tree of Life' featuring a pyramid-shaped board filled with colorful icons such as red figs, purple gems, orange stars, blue potion bottles, and pink feathers. On the left, three vials represent the level goals with varying levels of filled liquids. A timer indicates the urgency of the task. The left side also displays power-up credits with associated costs and a total cash count of $31,015. The lush underwater backdrop creates a serene atmosphere with coral and rock formations. Below the board, indicators show the progress towards unlocking additional levels. Published on: LadiesGamers.
A typical level.

Adventure is the story mode of Jewel Legends: Tree of Life. We play and collect resources, which we then use to buy blueprints for the Hods’ village. The buildings have cute and appropriate names, such as Mushroom Farm and Fountain of Wonder.

The central part of the game is the match-three puzzle. We have to match three or more stones of the same kind until we complete the goal for the level. Each level requires a certain number of several types of rocks to be collected. The stone kinds are also theme-appropriate to the game: feathers, crystals, fruits, coins, leaves, etc. We can buy and equip power-ups before the start of each level.

There are some power-ups in play.

Between Match-3 levels, we have mini-games. Everything we earn can be used to buy bonus tools and power-ups. In total, Jewel Legends: Tree of Life has over 100 levels.

The soundtrack is pleasant enough not to want to turn it off. You can still do that in Options in the Main Menu.

Some Notes

Jewel Legends: The Tree of Life features colorful visuals with fluid animations. The fonts need to be updated, and the game, at least for me, didn’t allow making screenshots. In terms of options – we have introductory video and audio settings. We can also toggle the tutorial off and on. A nice feature is a How to play tutorial in the main menu. It explains the gameplay mechanics.

Dynamic screenshot from 'Jewel Legends: Tree of Life' showing an active match-3 puzzle board ablaze with a glowing yellow light effect, signifying multiple matches being made. The game's pieces include yellow stars, red figs, pink feathers, green gems, and white stones, arranged in a grid against a jungle-themed backdrop with stone and foliage elements visible around the edges. On the left side, level goals are displayed in three glass vials with a blue time meter running down, next to the game's MENU and Level Goal labels. Below, the player's score reads $27,430, with power-up options and their costs arrayed along the bottom. The game's immersive graphics and effects contribute to an engaging puzzle-solving experience. On Steam, the game does not have Steam achievements or trading cards. One thing to note is that although the game was released just this autumn on Steam, it was also published much earlier under another developer- in 2012. So, if it looks familiar, that might be why.

Conclusion

Jewel Legends: Tree of Life is a casual, cozy Match-3 game. With its colorful graphics, pleasant soundtrack, and smooth gameplay, it can quickly suck you in for a few minutes. Getting stuck is almost impossible, so there is no stress. As an added bonus, it’s a game you can play while doing something else.
