Layton and the Curious village out on mobile

How fondly I remember the first Professor Layton game that was released on the DS back in 2007. It was one of the games that adults wanted to play, borrowing their kids DS to do so.

And now, Professor Layton and the Curious Village is available to download on iOS and Android. For a price of $9.99 or €10,99 you can have the game on your phone or tablet. And for this fee you get the game offline as well, no internet needed after initial download. No adverts either.

The game is al about Professor Hershel Layton and his young apprentice Luke Triton. They take on the task of investigating the village of St. Mystere and an artifact known as the Golden Apple.

It’s up to you to help them, by talking to the towns residents, and searching for clues. All these clues come in the form of a puzzle.  Over a 100 different brain-teasers that need solving. After you solve them, Layton will be one step closer to solving the mystery.

This is a HD port, so expect a few changes from the original DS release. The graphics have been updated so that they look great on phones and tablets. Additionally, you’ll find new and exclusive, never-before-seen animation footage. Of course, some things haven’t been touched, such as the fantastic soundtrack that perfectly captures the mood of Layton’s world.
