Let’s meet Marc!

Hi, my name is Marc Bridie. I’m a native Texan (USA) and 56-years-old.

I started gaming in the 70s in arcades. Then in the early 80s I got the Atari 2600 and spent may hours playing that. In the mid 80s I got a Nintendo Entertainment System and have been a Nintendo fan ever since.

In the 90s, I did play quite a few Commodore 64 and Amiga games. And in the late 90s I moved into PC games. Diablo was my favorite, then Starcraft and World of Warcraft and so on. However, I never stopped playing Nintendo games. I have owned all of the consoles and all of the handheld models.

For years the 3DS never left my side, and now I own a Switch and am loving it! There’s a nice story how I came to own a Switch:

My youngest attended a Nintendo event this past summer at a Walmart. They had a game truck there demoing Switch games and he filled out a form to win a Switch. Several weeks later, Nintendo e-mailed him that he had won! He got a Switch, three games (Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart and Tennis Aces) and the Labo. He gave the Switch to me (ok I am buying it from him).

My favorite genre is RPGs but I also enjoy sports games and strategy games.

I also manage a Houston 3DS/Switch Meetup group on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/groups/Houston3DS/. Over five years ago, several of us were meeting at a local mall to play multi-player 3DS games together and we created a Facebook group to hopefully find other local Nintendo handheld fans. Since then, we meetup about once a month to get together and play, it is a lot of fun.

It is nice to meet you all and I hope you enjoy my reviews.

  1. Welcome Marc!
Cool your son won a Switch with games! Very Lucky!!
I love the Switch and rpg’s to. Have you played Xenoblade? (one of my favorites)
    Good luck with your reviews!

    1. Hi Ronja, yeah it was very lucky! I would probably still be Switch-less if he hadn’t won.
No, haven’t played that yet. That game in particular sure gets mixed reviews.
      Thanks, I’ll need it!!

  2. Welcome to the team Marc! – Nice to see another Nintendo fan on here 😀

Your son winning a Switch is brilliant luck (for you as well as him it seems 😛 ), such a great prize! 😀 I won Top Spin 2 on DS from a Nintendo magazine years ago; the case was damaged, the congrats was on (what looked to be) scrap paper, and the game wasn’t great – but winning felt brilliant lol.

Look forward to seeing your future articles and reviews 😀

We love to hear from you!
