Mega Mosaic is a 2024 logic puzzle game developed by Mark Ffrench and released by Divide The Plunder.

The Gameplay of Mega Mosaic
Mega Mosaic, a game that stands out with its unique blend of logic puzzles and artistic design, draws strong inspiration from the Windows classic Minesweeper. It presents a large puzzle divided into segments, each with its own hidden picture, waiting to be revealed upon completion of the Minesweeper-type puzzle.
For the Minesweeper- part of the game, we have light and dark tiles that must be placed correctly onto the grid. We have numbered clues (0-9) that indicate how many light tiles must be placed within 1 square of the clue. If the light tiles aren’t the correct number, the clue on the square goes from black to red. We place the tiles with the left and right mouse buttons. Moving around, the picture is done with WASD on the keyboard.
Mega Mosaic offers a gameplay experience that is a departure from the original Minesweeper. With no timers or bombs, this design choice creates a more casual and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a long day. The developers have even added undo and hint buttons in an update, enhancing the game’s stress-free nature.

Mega Mosaic has a nice chill lo-fi soundtrack, which you can always turn off if you’d rather listen to something else. I am a big fan of doing puzzles while listening to podcasts and lectures, and Mega Mosaic worked great for that purpose.
When it comes to graphics and performance, some players complained about stuttering, but I didn’t experience any issues myself. The game ran smoothly. The visuals comprise different pixel art images, creating a patchwork effect. Over the past year, I’ve developed a new appreciation for pixel art after years of dismissing it.

Some Other Things
Mega Mosaic has basic audio, video and gameplay settings, as well as the option to reset the puzzle. It also has Steam achievements but no trading cards yet. Thankfully, the game also has an instruction card with the rules.
Conclusion
Mega Mosaic is a modern take on the classic Minesweeper game, injecting new energy into the beloved logic puzzle genre. With challenging gameplay and updated graphics, it’s a fantastic addition for fans of puzzle games.
Final Verdict: I Like it a Lot.
