Mobile game of the year 2016

Yes, it’s that time of year again. Time to choose the Handheld Game of the Year. And just like every year, I’ll divide it into three categories: 3DS games, Vita games and mobile games. Let’s kick it off with the Mobile Game of the Year 2016. At the bottom of the article you will find the poll. Please choose the game that stood out to you.

This is what I wrote last year: ” I know not everyone feels these games are real games, but looking at the huge popularity of games like Clash of Clans and Candy Crush, I think they cannot be ignored. Plus, with the first Nintendo/DeNA games that will soon be released in 2016, I feel it’s time to include them in the polls”.

Nintendo enters the mobile gaming market

Well, we’ve had a busy year in mobile games with Nintendo entering the market with their own special brand of mobile games. The first one was MiiTomo, which in hindsight feels more like testing the waters in Nintendo’s own special quirky way. We’ve seen them involved through their shares in the Pokémon Company in Pokémon Go, and in a couple of days, we will see their first real game: Super Mario Run. I guess more and more gamers will flock to mobile games now, even if they feel nothing can beat the dedicated gaming devices.

Poll for best Mobile game 2016.

Please select the game that stood out to you this year. In a couple of weeks I’ll announce the top 3 of best Mobile games 2016, either on iOS or Android. Have I missed a game you were very chuffed about? Then please add it to the list. Thanks in advance for participating!

  1. As someone who doesn’t play a lot of mobile games, but is still playing Pokemon GO, I’m glad to see that it’s at the top of the polls. This is probably the first year where I’ve engaged in numerous mobile games thanks to Nintendo’s entrance into the market. I would have voted for Super Mario Run, but I haven’t played it yet, but I can see myself enjoying it. I also had some good fun with Miitomo and Yo-kai Watch Wibble Wobble this year!

    1. I decided to include Super Mario Run, as I’m pretty sure some voters will vote later, after they’ve given it a try.
I know lots of people stopped playing Pokémon Go, but I’ve seen non gamers getting enthusiastic about the game. And that says it all for me!

  2. You should check out monster super league. I am playing it now and it’s additive ( well @ least to me that is, lol! ) Would love to try Kingdom Hearts Unchained X, but I can’t seems to get pass the update download. 🙁

  3. I went with Pokemon Go, though there are a few others that I have enjoyed in the past year. Oh, and thanks to your above list, there’s a few more that I want to try!

We love to hear from you!
