Neon Fantasy: Animals is a 2023 casual puzzle game developed by Screen Smith Studios.
Neon Fantasy: Animals is a fun puzzle game that combines beautiful neon artwork and the pleasure of jigsaw puzzles.
In Neon Fantasy: Animals, you must rearrange puzzle pieces to form a picture of a neon-colored animal. The rearranging itself is done by swapping two squares on a grid-divided playfield. You have hints – on the sides of the images, you have buttons that allow you a sneak peek of parts of the picture. If you get stuck, there is a button for remixing the blocks on the lower right side. Also, you can view the finished image even before completing it the moment you solve the previous level. Sometimes, when you finish the picture, the game doesn’t immediately recognize that you’re done- you have to swap back and forth a pair of blocks and that usually is enough to unlock the next level.
Since it’s an image-based game, the pictures themselves are vital to the experience, and they don’t disappoint – they are dramatic and gorgeous, with hints of neon color and shading without it being overpowering to the eye. The player has 50 images to solve, however they are arranged as levels- you need to complete one to unlock the next. As I mentioned above- you can view the unlocked image as it should be, before you actually rearrange correctly the blocks. The electronic lo-fi soundtrack also nicely compliments the art. However, if it’s not to your taste, you can mute it from a handy button on the upper right.
Studies in recent years have shown that puzzles can help improve overall mental abilities and reduce the risk of dementia. So games like Neon Fantasy: Animals can be fun and good for us! Neon Fantasy: Animals is a game with a straightforward premise; however, with its relaxing music and beautiful images, it makes for an excellent casual puzzle game.
Final Verdict: I Like it.
