New Game + Expo news

This year no E3, but still, today we got an online showcase of new and upcoming releases from a coalition of developers from around the world. Great, as the more previews and news, the better!

Great games were shown, you can find the showcase here:

New Game + Expo

Quite a few stood out to me that I want to highlight:

Café Enchanté

Coming to the Switch Fall 2020, this is an Otome game from Idea Factory and published by Aksys Games. When Kotone inherits her grandfather’s Tokyo café, she discovers the shop holds more secrets than anyone could imagine. The café is a meeting spot for beings from multiple, mystical worlds. You’ll meet the king of demons, a humanoid beast, a fallen angel, and more. And when government agents monitoring non-human activities show up at your door, your new café is about to become a lot more colorful.

Tin & Kuna

Made by Black River Studios and coming to consoles this fall, this looks like a very cute puzzler we would enjoy!

When the Prime Orb on his home world is taken, Kuna must explore colorful, chaotic levels filled with puzzles and peril to return everything to normal. Kuna begins with the ability to turn himself into a ball, rolling and bouncing through the environments, dashing and bashing through blocks. As Kuna collects power crystals, he obtains new special abilities; jumping higher, catching fire, and attaching to magnetic objects. As he overcomes various foes and environmental hazards, Kuna steadily restores balance to his world. However, reaching the Prime Orb begins a new adventure, unlocking a powerful new playable character! Tin has a new set of abilities, taking on worlds in his own fast and ferocious style. Players will have to use all their skills and every ability that Tin and Kuna possess to bring their world into balance.

Pretty Princess Party

Another upcoming game from Nippon Columbia, and published by Aksys: Pretty Princess Party. Coming to the Switch in Fall 2020.

Become a princess and restore your castle to its former glory! Pretty Princess Party on the Nintendo Switch allows you to explore a long-abandoned castle, decorating, training, and unlocking hundreds of items. Begin by creating a princess character with endless choices of dresses, shoes, accessories, and hairstyles.

Then learn how to be a princess by playing six different fun mini-games, including cake decorating, horse racing, and dancing. Successfully completing the games will open up new outfit choices and allow you to unlock hundreds of unique items to decorate your castle’s 20 rooms – over 1,300 items total! Once the rooms are decorated, you can take commemorative photos to show off your royal style! Even after completing the entire magical story, you can take on new challenge objectives to update rooms and photographs.

Piofiore ~ Fated Memories

Another game, made by Idea Factory and published by Aksys is Piofiore. Coming to the Switch in the Fall.

Liliana Adoronato was born and raised in the church in the center of the Italian town of Burlone. Three criminal organizations control parts of the city, and Lily discovers that she is literally in the center of their turf wars. Her encounters with the leaders of the Falzone, Visconti, and Lao-Shu families lead to danger and distraction. Once Lily is drawn into the shadowy world of the mafia, she realizes there is no going back.

Re:ZERO – Starting Life in Another World

Sutitled the Prophesy of the throne, this tactical adventure by Chime Corporation is coming to the Switch next winter.

One month after Subaru’s new life in another world began, an emissary sent by the royal castle suddenly appears with news that the royal selection has been postponed, but offers no reason as to why. The postponement of this grand event that decides the next ruler of the Kingdom of Lugunica stirs Subaru and his friends into action. They return to the royal capital only to find that a sixth candidate has claimed their stake for the throne. But the Dragon Stone prophesizes that only five candidates would be chosen. With one candidate being an imposter, suspicions are immediately cast toward one woman in particular: Emilia. What answers lie beyond the mysterious web of assassinations, betrayal, and conspiracies…?

Giraffe and Annika

We have mentioned this game before, still, it was nice to see it here too. Made by atelier mimina it already has a release date for the Switch: August 25 in the US and three days later in the EU.

A magical, mystery-filled adventure awaits! When a young girl named Annika awakens from a strange dream, she finds herself stranded on the mysterious “Spica Island” with no memory of how she got there. Upon exploring, she meets a boy named Giraffe, who seems to know her, and is tasked with finding three special star fragments on the island in order to unravel the mysteries of her forgotten memories. While searching for the fragments, Annika meets Lily, the Witch of the Mysterious Forest, who challenges her to a battle! Fortunately, Annika emerges victorious, and uncovers a star fragment. She absorbs the fragment and is suddenly granted remarkable visions. What secrets await this unlikely trio of adventurers on the island of Spica?

Harvest Moon One World

For the first time since we got news about the new Harvest Moon game, we saw some footage. And very nice that the faces and character don’t look as weird as in the former games! According to Natsume this game will feature an all new engine which will allow for beautified visuals and all new features as well as overall improved game mechanics. Coming to the Switch this Fall.

  1. YAAAAAAAAASSSS!

I am going to laugh all the way through the Headless Knight’s path, but that Cafe Enchantment announcement is exactly what the doctor ordered today.

The princess one looks excellent as well. Seriously. It’s all I can do not to run to the website and pre-order both.

I really want Harvest Moon to be good. In my opinion, we can never have too many farming sims.

We love to hear from you!
