Nice, a Nintendo Direct aimed at the 3DS! And the offerings certainly didn’t disappoint!
First of all, the games that hold my special interest, games that I’ve often talked about here on ladiesgamers.com:
Update Animal Crossing New Leaf, Welcome Amiibo
As you’d expect, I’m exited about this update. I’ve been thinking of dusting off either my little town of The Cabin or TulipIn, because I’ve got to make sure I bond a bit with my villagers again. They must surely think something awful has befallen me by now. The update is free, and you will be able to use all AC amiibo and the cards too. plus some other Nintendo amiibo. What surprised me though was the collection of 50 new cards that will be available for all new animals. They will camp in your town in their camper, and each will have their own furniture. And best of all: they are animals that haven’t featured in an AC game before!
We will be getting a mini Nintendo Direct, entirely about Animal Crossing this fall. For Japan, the date for this mini Nintendo Direct is November 2nd, so expect it for the other regions too.
The special cards are said to be available from November, but I noticed the special packaged “Welcome Amiibo” version of the game is available in stores from November 25 in Europe, and the special cards have a date for December 2nd. So I think we will have to keep that date in mind. And don’t forget: we should see a mobile game connected to AC this Fall too!
New Pikmin game for the 3DS
Finally! Long hoped for, but we’ve got news of a new Pikmin game for the 3DS. I’m a bit disappointed that it’s not an open world adventure game, but a side scrolling adventure game. But hey, as I like my little friends a lot, I’ll happily take any kind of game they offer. Plus the stylus might be just perfect for steering the pikmin where you want them to go. The parts they showed look very good! The game is set for 2017.
More footage on Ever Oasis
In June’s E3 Nintendo surprised us with a new title that looked very promising. I tried to collect a lot of info on the game back then, and I was happy to see that they included it in this Nintendo Direct. (more info in this post) At least we are certain now that it will be released in English in 2017!
Poochy & Yoshi’s Wooly World
Sometimes a game comes along that looks so amazing you just want to play it. Yoshi’s Wooly World looks so good on the WiiU, and now it will be available for the 3DS too. And not just with Wooly but with Poochy too. The game will have all the levels of the WiiU game and some extra levels featuring Poochy. Nintendo is working with animation studio Dwarf on some short stop motion films featuring Wooly and Poochy. And then that Poochy amiibo: I swear, cuteness overload!
Streetpass MiiPark Premium
I don’t know about you, but I hardly ever play the streetpass games anymore. Just collect the puzzle pieces. Maybe the update that we get today to turn the plaza into the premium version is just what I need. New games are added, and you can have up to 100 streetpass hits queuing for you. Plus, you can go through the obligatory messages quicker. Now that, I love. My husband doesn’t like it much when I check my 3DS for the green light every so often when we are out and about. But with the current max of 10 hits can fill up pretty quick. The premium version is not free, it will cost $ 4,99. The new games are:
- StreetPass Slot Racer / Slot Car Rivals (can be chosen as your one free game)
- StreetPass Trader / Market Crashers (can be chosen as your one free game)
- StreetPass Chef / Feed Mii
- StreetPass Explorers / Mii Trek
- StreetPass Ninja / Ninja Launcher
Enough for now I think. We had a lot of great images and videos for some awesome games I’ll definately want to play when the time comes. I’ll tell you a bit more about it tomorrow, over coffee!
I think moving Pikmin to a sidescrolling environment could create some really cool level design opportunities. I am curious about this one and I will surely be getting it.
Ever Oasis keeps looking better and better!
I am so excited for the Animal Crossing update, and I cannot WAIT to get my hands on that Poochy Amiibo! So cute!
He is mega cute! I’m too am so exited for it, and I cannot wait to see how the mobile game of AC will tie in!
I’m really excited for these announcements! My animal crossing home probably has bugs and weeds by now . The other games look great too so I can’t wait for those to come out.
