Nope, this game is no good!

Yes, it happened to me too. I have bought games in the past that turned to be no good. At least, no good for me. Of course other people may have enjoyed them immensely, and if that is the case I’d like to apologize right now for mentioning their beloved games in a negative way.

Normally I don’t buy games without some research first. Usually the reviews on the leading gaming sites give you a good idea as to what kind of a game it is. There’s always YouTube too, there’s bound to be a clip of the intended game on there. And you know it’s a good idea to steer away from games based on movies, they are hardly ever worth playing. But still, even I get surprised sometimes in a negative way.

What comes to mind is the DS game Spectrobes, that I bought in a clearance, without really investigating what it was about. I just didn’t understand what the game wanted from me, I didn’t get very far and didn’t like what I saw. Another one that I sold pretty quick again was Legends of the Titans: Dinosaurs for 3DS. It got boring pretty quick, but in my defense I’ll say that after the release of the 3DS system it was a long time that no good games were released to actually use your 3DS.

And then there are those games that had so much potential, but it just didn’t fulfill it’s promise. I’m thinking of Witch’s Wish which I bought on release in the US. The game could have been a good one, I even finished it hoping that the game would take a turn for the better. That one made me wish I was a game developer myself, I could really see how the game could have been turned into a great experience.

I’m sure I’ll make mistakes in gaming in the future too, but that’s alright. I’m just glad there’s a good market for used games out there!

  1. Currently playing Witch’s Wish, and I see a lot of “it was meh” reviews online. However, other than some VERY finicky spells at parts, I am finding it delightful. It’s graphics are adorable, the story is engaging in a middle-grade book sort of way, and I am just thoroughly enjoying my time with it. Was worth the slightly high price (it’s considered rare these days in the US).

    1. Somehow I do remember this game vividly. And I do agree it looks good and the gameplay is flawless with the spells. But I felt they could have done so much more with it! Nice that it’s a rare find by now!
