For some time now I have been following the progress of Oceanhorn on the various gaming devices. The game, Oceanhorn: Monster of the Uncharted Seas first appeared on iOS in 2013, and has since been ported to many consoles. On Steam it got a score of 9 out of 10, though it got mixed reviews on the XBox and PS4 versions.
The game is about a young boy who goes on a quest to find his lost father, and has to fight a sea monster, Oceanhorn, to save him.  With nothing more than a sword and shield he leaves the safety of a small island in search of his dad, who’s gone missing while hunting the Oceanhorn, a living fortress and at the same time a terrible mechanical beast. Dark energy has corrupted Oceanhorn and it is threatening many islands. To restore the kingdom of Arcadia, the boy needs to collect the sacred emblems of Earth, Ocean, and Sol and defeat the creature with the power of the gods and a legendary sword and shield.
It’s no secret that the makers of the game are big fans of Zelda adventures and maybe that’s why I’m curious about it. I guess though that a lot of people are curious, but haven’t taken action to actually buy the Switch version. The developers have decided to release a demo in the Nintendo eShop in October, so we can all get a feel of what the game is about! Nice, I’m surely giving it a try!
