Paula Game Ramblings LadiesGamers

Paula’s Game Ramblings Essential Mods for Cities: Skylines

Welcome to another edition of Paula’s Game Ramblings. I’ve been playing a lot of Cities: Skylines lately, so for these ramblings, I’m going to go over some quality-of-life mods to include in your game.

The Cities: Skylines mods community is still very active even though the game has been out for many years. There are some fantastic mods and assets to use in your builds on the workshop. Though I wouldn’t recommend you download everything you like to your game, as it can be a lot to handle, depending on your computer’s specs.

If you have already got mods installed, my advice would be to uninstall them and use the mods on this list as they have all been updated to the latest version of Cites: Skylines, thanks to the fantastic modders on the workshop.

My UK City build

The mods I mention here have all been tested and work well in the game. They are some of the quality of life mods that help make it easier to play Cities: Skylines. Things that Colossal Order and Paradox Interactive should have implemented into the base game. Maybe someday, our wishes will come true, and all these quality-of-life mods will all appear in Cities: Skylines 2!

Harmony 2.2-0 (Mod Dependency) [Plazas & Promenades compatible] by boformer & kian.zarrin

Cities: Skylines LadiesGamers

Harmony isn’t a quality of life mod for Cities: Skylines. However, you will have to download it if you want to use any mods in the workshop, as Harmony is a dependency for various other mods to run. Without it most of the mods will not work properly with the game or at all.

Loading Screen Mod Revisited 0.6 by algernon & Chamëleon TBN

Cities: Skylines LadiesGamers

Loading Screen mod is a must-have if you use a lot of mods or assets in your build. This mod will list everything it loads into your game when it starts; the mod also lists any missing assets. It is very handy to see exactly how much memory is being used and if any assets are missing. It also helps to load the game up quickly, which everyone likes.

81 Tiles by Chamëleon TBN & algernon

81 tiles open to build on

The 81 Tiles mod allows you to open more than the standard nine tiles. It will enable you to build on all suitable tiles on the map.

No water or sewage pipes in use

This new addition of the 81 Tiles mod also includes some excellent new features. It consists of the optional ‘no need for powerlines’ and ‘no need for pipes’. So though you need management and sewage services on the map, you don’t have to connect them all up to the city as they automatically get power and sewage from the roads, neat tick.

Find It 2 By sway & algernon

Find It!

The Find It mod allows you to search, filter, select, and place assets. It also provides extra info that is usually unavailable in the vanilla game. So if you have a lot of assets and props, Find it is what you need, and it does exactly as it says on the tin. It helps you find buildings, props and decals in the game by searching for them by name.

Move It! by Quboid

Move It

The Move It mod is for players who want to make the city of their dreams. As the name suggests, this mod allows you to move objects in the game exactly where you want them. This includes buildings, trees, props, decals, roads, and even surfaces.

The mod is a powerful tool for precision as you can lift already placed buildings and props in your city and place them at the angle you want. It really helps with your customization needs; I use it all the time. You must also subscribe to the mods Prop Precision and Prop Snapping to use this mod.

Automatic Pedestrian Bridge Builder V2.0 Beta by kian.zarrin & Chamëleon TBN

Cities: Skylines LadiesGamers

As the name says, Automatic Pedestrian Bridge Builder lets you build pedestrian bridges without needing to draw the bridge yourself. Instead, use it automatically to make a pedestrian bridge over a water area. It also builds tunnels underground or over junctions/roundabouts/roads.

Game Anarchy 0.7.7 by Mbyron26

Cities: Skylines LadiesGamers

Game Anarchy extends some of the Cities: Skylines game functions. For example, it allows you to exit the game quickly, skip the intro, and unlock all the Unique Buildings. It also removes pollution, death, garbage, criminals, and fire. As well as maximize city attractiveness, maximize entertainment coverage, maximize land value, and education coverage.

Network Multitool 1.3.2 by macsergey

Network Multitool

The Network Multitool mod provides many different tools for working with networks. The multitool helps you build roads in circles and run them parallel to each other. As well as remove nodes and join segments or change the position of the nodes so that they line up in one smooth line. It’s a very useful tool to use in the game.

Traffic Manager: President Edition 11.7.0.0 STABLE by Chamëleon TBN & LinuxFan

Cities: Skylines LadiesGamers
Traffic Manager: President Edition

When your city has grown into a large metropolis with intertwining roads, 8-way intersections, busy traffic flow, and the game’s problematic AI, it can become one of the bigger problems you’ll focus on.

Traffic Manager: President Edition gives you precise control over the intersections and more road lane management to help get the traffic in your city flowing better. You can add traffic lights or stop signs to road junctions and get that traffic flowing properly again.

Ploppable RICO Revisited by algernon

Ploppable RICO Revisited

The Ploppable RICO Revisited’s main function enables you to have functional RICO (Residential, Industrial, Commercial, Office) buildings larger than possible with an unmodded game. In addition, it enables you to change the properties of those buildings, such as changing the type, level, and household workplace counts or residents and workers in buildings.

It also gives you control of having a functional and realistically-sized occupancy count in a large office tower or apartment building instead of the game-set numbers of occupancy per building.

Forest Brush v1.3 by egi & TPB

Cities: Skylines LadiesGamers
Forest Brush

The Forest Brush lets you paint realistic and varied forests, grasslands, gardens or just patches of plants with ease and convenience. In addition, instead of placing trees and shrubs individually on your map, you can make a forest brush off all the shrubs and trees you want to plant at once.

It features a slick and intuitive interface and extensive customisation options to allow you to achieve the results you desire. It’s perfect for detailing and placing plants and beautifying your city.

You can find the spreadsheet for the Broken and Incompatible Mods – Patch 1.15.0-f7 here, it also includes a list of all mods that are fixed.
