Paste Magazine recently had an interview with the head of Marketing at Nintendo of America, Doug Bowser. He mentioned that Nintendo saw a bright future for both handheld devices like the 3DS and the Switch console. By the way, Doug Bowser?? He must have been picked for the job based on his name! Seriously, I checked online to be sure the magazine hadn’t made a mistake penning down the name, but they didn’t!
Anyway, in it he mentioned:
The Switch is off to a great start. We’ve seen people engaging the Switch in a number of different ways, and we’ve been given some raw data that I won’t get into, but across the spectrum, some never take it out of its cradle, others use it as a portable device, but a lot of people are right in the middle, with a balance between home and portable play. We absolutely believe there’s still a future in handheld, and so we’re investing in it.
Which got me thinking: my Switch hasn’t seen a TV screen since I installed it. I play Zelda Breath of the Wild on it, and always play it in handheld mode. I wonder, if you own a Switch, how do you use it? Do you use it as a console only, take it with you all the time like I do. Or is it a mix between the two?
Please let me know in the poll I’ve added to this article!

I picked sometimes for both, but I’d say a higher percentage is used on the small screen, even if I’m at home. Can’t beat that portable gaming accessibility!
Of course, I totally agree. And I can’t say it doesn’t handle the graphics and such beautiful. But, I realize I can’t exactly compare it, might look even more gorgeous on the big tv!
