A Blue City.

Gameplay of Purrfectly Hidden Cats – Kittenbay

Purrfectly Hidden Cats – Kittenbay doesn’t stray much from other games in the genre; we have a scene, and we look for cats. The game is set within a charming port city, with houses and coffee shops.

We have people and dogs walking around. We might even find other critters if we look really carefully. We have cats on the streets and in the trees. Green cats are hiding around in boxes and behind curtains. Finding them was not easy, and I was annoyed by the lack of hints. Games like this one are supposed to be fun and light, I shouldn’t have to spent 10 minutes looking for a single cat.

Some Funny Lines.

Once you find all the cats, you unlock an extra puzzle with the figurines in the middle. At first glance, it looks like you are looking for a part of the picture, then a difference between the pictures. After quite a while, I realized what I was actually looking for was a paw print. So that you know.

Where is this?

After you find all of them, you have a music puzzle. After that, you unlock another hidden cat’s level – a night scene of Kittenbay. After you find all the nighttime cats, you have another musical puzzle, and then you have to find another cat, this time with a timer. None of those are particularly difficult, but they are time-consuming. The instructions could have been a little clearer, and I don’t think a hint button would go amiss.

A Nighttime Kittenbay.

A Blue Town

Visually Purrfectly Hidden Cats – Kittenbay looks gorgeous. The picture of the town is pretty and vibrant with life. The art style is clear and concise. While the cats aren’t easy to find, once you do, you will not wonder how a doodle can pass up for a cat.

Compared to other Hidden Animal games, the scene is not black and white but rather a gradient blue with a light yellow sky. The cats, once found, are pink and green. There is a counter for each type of cat – green and pink on the top side of the screen. The soundtrack is playful and fits well with the overall gaming experience.

One of the best parts of Purrfectly Hidden Cats – Kittenbay is its citizens – cats and humans. Each of them has its own personality and funny line to say. They are kind of voiced with a speed-up audio track, but also, the line shows up on the screen in a speech bubble.

Some Side Notes

Purrfectly Hidden Cats: Kittenbay has basic audio on and off toggles. The game has Steam achievements but no trading cards as of yet.

Conclusion

Purrfectly Hidden Cats: Kittenbay is another good cozy hidden object game that lets you escape for a few moments. With its humor and upbeat atmosphere, it is great fun, but it might overstay its welcome if you get stuck at 49 pink cats out of 50.
