Although the simulation farming game Harvest Moon Light of Hope has been on Steam for some time now, it took some doing to get the console versions ready apparently. But now, there’s a release-date.
The American version for Switch or PS4 is expected in stores on May 2018, with GameStop being the only store who has it on for pre-order for May 28. The game is expected in Europe in June.
If you pre-order the game at GameStop, you will get a cute plush, this time a brown cow. For people who pre-ordered Harvest Moon games before to get their hands on the cute plushies: a nice addition! Like I mentioned this week in my article about Yonder the Cloud Catcher Chronicles, things are looking up for simulation games on the Switch.
I checked out the user comments on the game on Steam, and saw that 79% of 326 reviews were positive. Some people do mention that it is a good game for newcomers to the farming fun though. True, I know this game will likely not reach the high standards of the Story of Seasons franchise, but I’m still looking forward to giving it a try.
This is the description that’s up on Steam:
Looking for a fresh start and some new surroundings, you set off on a voyage to begin your new life! Unfortunately, the weather has different plans, as your ship is hit by a monsoon, and goes down! You drift into a small harbor town, now in shambles from the storm, where a young doctor named Jeanne saves your life. The town has essentially been deserted, but you’re never one to back down from a challenge! It will be up to you to help rebuild the town and save the lighthouse…but it won’t be easy! Nevertheless, with some hard work growing crops, tending livestock, and gathering materials for repairs, you will be able to make new friends, start a family, revive the lighthouse, and save the town, your new home!
• Collect important materials to rebuild the town and restore the lighthouse!
• Complete requests from villagers to unlock new areas and items!
• New and unique festivals, including the Dog Racing Festival!
• Learn to grow and mutate crops with user friendly UI and tutorials!
• Play as a boy or a girl, get married, and start a family!
I used to love harvest moon!
Me too! And even though this isn’t the original Harvest Moon (which is now called Story of Seasons) I’m still looking forward to this one!
