The Merry Fairy is a 2025 writing utilities app, developed and released by Pronoia AB.

Premise

The Merry Fairy is a 2025 writing utilities app that helps you create a digital scrapbook journal while immersing you in a storybook-like world of fairies and nature.

Gameplay of The Merry Fairy

When opening the app, we are greeted with a cozy, magical cottage in the forest. We are directed to choose the weather that suits our inner mood and then enter the cottage of The Merry Fairy.

Once inside, we can write while listening to the sounds of nature and several suitable soundtracks. From time to time, we will be interrupted by the forest fairies and spirits and reminded to take a short break.

Besides the reminders to take a break and the option to write lists, there aren’t many productivity tools, but that’s hardly the idea. While exploring the space and communicating with the visiting fairies, we collect stickers and decorations to add to our scrapbook. From time to time, we get inspiring letters and notes. Some of them contain famous quotes, and some include interesting facts about fairies.

Some scrapbooking.

We have a variety of trinkets on the desk, including a jar of soul candy, which are little tidbits of self-love and inspiration. We can light the candles or turn them off. We can ring the bell to summon a fairy if we have questions or need more decorations. In The Merry Fairy book on the desk, we’ll find sample scrapbooking pages, but clicking on everything there will also give us access to additional stickers.

There are no timers, no limits, and no stress in The Merry Fairy cottage. You can arrange pages from the scrapbook to your heart’s content, write things down, or even just let it run in the background, listening to several different tracklists. One of my favorite ways to use the app was to let it run in full-screen mode while I was doing house chores or just reading nearby.

The world of The Merry Fairy is colorful and whimsical, with fully 3D rendered interior of the cottage. The decorations and the scrapbooking look like watercolor, which only enhances the overall fairytale feel of the whole app.

Some Other Things

The Merry Fairy has a demo on Steam to try the app before buying. The Merry Fairy features basic audio and graphics settings, as well as the option to choose between two fonts. Clicking on the mushroom in the main screen will reset your progress in the cottage.

Conclusion

The Merry Fairy is an excellent idea for those who already love collecting stickers, fairy tales, scrapbooking, and journaling. It sets out to create a cozy, magical place for you to relax, and it does so beautifully. If you are unsure if you’ll like The Merry Fairy, I encourage you to try the demo. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Final Verdict: I Like it a Lot. I like it a lot
