Today’s Japanese Nintendo Direct showed us some interesting announcements, which surprises me, with this years E3  just around the corner. Nintendo seems to have a lot up their sleeve, because today’s news was promising!

  • They showed Dragon Quest VIII, looking very good and to be released in Japan on August 27
  • Fire Emblem IF which will be released on June 25th, looks to me to be a bit less static, you seem to be able to create your own town feature in the game. You’ll be able to build shops like a weapon and item shop in vacant lots, have your comrades take care of sales, interact with allies in the town, and interact with other players via StreetPass functionality. When you visit another player’s My Castle area, you’ll be able to buy weapons and items not available in your own land. You can also use My Castle to battle against other players.
  • Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon looks all kinds of cute, and will be released on September 17.
  • Yoshi’s Wooly World is looking as beautiful as ever, and what’s fun is that when you use let’s say a Mario Amiibo, Yoshi’s turns into a yarn version of Mario!

  • The release of Animal Crossing Happy Home designer is a big deal in Japan. The game plus NFC reader and the Amiibo cards are available on July 30, and to celebrate the release, there’s a AC themed New 3DS LL! Jealous here! There will be cover plates too to make the smaller New 3DS Animal Crossing themed.

  • Another announcement that made my day was a new Chibi Robo title to be released this Fall, called Guru Guru! Chibi Robo! Not a sim title this time, but Chibi uses his power cord to twirl around and overcome enemies and obstacles. You know I’m not much of a platformer but I guess I’ll have to be one for my little hero!

  • There’s a new Monster Hunter X in the make, which will make the fans very happy. But what got me interested here was the trailer that was shown for the spin-off title Monster Hunter Diary: Poka Poka Airou Village. It looks a lot like Animal Crossing goodness with a little questing mixed in. Cute and sweet, and to be released in Japan on September 10. I think that is a must buy for me!
