If you have been following this Gaming Plus blog for some time, you’ll know that it’s not all about gaming. Sometimes it’s all about real life, like last Summer, when I told you about the way this Dutch ladies experiences travelling the US. Our trip spanned Texas, Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico, if by chance I’ve visited your home state, the series is here.
A couple of weeks into the new year, it’s time to make plans for our new holiday. Once again we will be visiting several states in the US and we are having a lot of fun searching for just the right hotel and special things to do. Just now it occurred to me that while we are doing our research to find hotels and things to visit, you might actually have some good tips for me!
So, a new weekly feature: tips for our travel plans in the US wanted! This week we start off in Chicago, the city that will be our first destination. I don’t know a lot yet about Chicago, I know though that it’s nick-named the Windy City. What tips can you give me? What sights do I need to go and see? And if you know the city, what anecdotes would you want to share? I’m curious to hear your thoughts!
Chicago is a very windy city. It is a beautiful city and has a lot to offer – it has the “big” city feel. There is a lot of crime in Chicago. Don’t stray off the beaten track. Be aware of your surroundings and sightsee in groups. You seem to have a lot of common sense so you will be okay. I would use Yelp. The Trip Advisor and AAA to check out places to see. I have not been there in years so can’t offer first hand advice as to what you may want to see.
