Welcome. It’s time to look at the Upcoming Steam Games for April 2024 that we have on our radar. But aside from our Upcoming Steam Games, if you play on Nintendo Switch, we also have an Upcoming Switch Games article here.
Furthermore, not all games to be released are on the list here. Alternatively, you will see games that the other gaming sites don’t mention. We are taking notice of these games, and you can expect reviews for many of them if given half a chance! It should be noted that unless we have some personal experience with the game, there’s a link to the descriptions on the Steam website.
Upcoming Steam Games April 2024
Planetiles – April 3rd
Planetiles is a serene city builder with roguelike elements. Create natural habitats on remote planets as you satisfy quests and earn bonuses with strategically placed ecosystems.
Craft habitats on varying planet sizes with strategic tile placement, which earns you bonuses and unlockables, such as tile skins and customization options. Shaping a forest consisting of a specified number of fields or constructing a distinct feature like an oasis will give you different benefits depending on your quests and game progression.
Mina reviewed Planetiles and said this in her conclusion;
Overall, Planetiles is a super fun tile placement game. I like the look and style of the game. It feels well-polished, and the sound design is great. All the action, placement, and movement feel really good, and the visuals grow on you after a while. I came to really appreciate the trippy space aesthetic much more than I thought I would after about 30 minutes in.
It’s fun, challenging, and has a whole lot of replayability. There is a lot to love about Planetiles and very, very few things I didn’t like. I do wish that the tutorial was a little more informative, but it couldn’t ruin my enjoyment of the game overall. If you enjoy tile placement video games or board games, I would recommend Planetiles to you.
Spirit City: Lofi Sessions – April 8th
Spirit City: Lofi Sessions is a gamified focus tool set to a soothing lofi soundtrack. Discover and collect Spirits, customize your cosy virtual space, and facilitate your real-life tasks with handy features designed to improve concentration and ease stress.
Soft, soothing lofi music and dynamic soundscapes such as pattering rain and crackling fire provide the perfect background ambience to relieve stress and unwind.
Kalina reviewed Spirit City: Lofi Sessions and said this in her conclusion:
Since discovering productivity apps, I’ve spent quite a while testing some of them. My daily app is Virtual Cottage, but now, with Spirit City: Lofi Sessions, a worthy opponent has arrived. Between its cozy esthetics, the potential for more customizations, and the integration of other YouTube playlists, I can spend time with Spirit City: Lofi Sessions.
Botany Manor – April 9th
Welcome to Botany Manor, a stately home in 19th-century England. You play as inhabitant Arabella Greene, a retired botanist. Explore your house and gardens, filled with research, to figure out the ideal habitat of forgotten flora. Grow each plant to discover the mysterious qualities they hold.
Lynne reviewed Botany Manor and said this in her conclusion:
There is no denying that Botany Manor transports you to a bygone era. I had a thoroughly enjoyable time digging around to find the growing conditions of the forgotten flora, ensuring my herbarium blossomed in completeness and unearthing Arabella Greene’s life.
Sophia the Traveler – April 11th
Join our lovely heroine as she roams Venice, the City of Water. Like a Where’s Wally Visual Novel, Search for objects and characters in stunning and vivid hand-painted cityscapes! This is a unique and enjoyable picture book style.
Sophia the Traveler contains ten different scenes. More than 1800 character assets, over 300 sets of character animation, and more than 100 sequence animations.
Kalina reviewed Sophia the Traveler and said this in her conclusion:
All in all, Sophia the Traveler is a solid entry in the hidden object genre. It has all the hallmarks of an excellent game. For me, the hint recharge time was a bit long. This, coupled with the vast scenes with more minor elements to find, such as bone or a backpack, made for an exhausting rather relaxing experience. But this game is for you if you like detailed hidden object scenes.
Cirrus Business – April 11th
Help Cloudi and friends restore their home in this whimsical, story-driven farming adventure. You’ll learn that growing and managing magical crops while defending against the slobsters isn’t a breeze but very serious business.
Yvonne reviewed Cirrus Business and said this in her conclusion;
Cirrus Business has the framework to be a cute, wholesome game, with growing plants, restoring the energy for the biomes and lovely graphics. I feel the balance of Cirrus Business Economy, as the game calls it, isn’t right. But, if you are more nimble-fingered than I am, you might have no trouble beating the Slobsters and gathering all the Windsprinkles you need.
Vertical Kingdom – April 15th
Vertical Kingdom is set in a world devastated by a war that lasted for an entire generation. The once great Empire is in shambles, and it’s up to the Great Architect to rebuild its former glory brick by brick. Travel the land, embark on randomized, roguelite-style expeditions, and build new cities with a fresh card-based building system combined with an intricate resource economy.
Harold Halibut – April 16th
Harold Halibut is a handmade narrative game about friendship and life on a city-sized spaceship submerged in an alien ocean. It’s been 250 years since your home, an ark-like spaceship, fled an Earth on the verge of a cold war to find a habitable planet to preserve the human race.
You are Harold, a young lab assistant for the ship’s lead scientist, Jeanne Mareaux. While most of the ship’s inhabitants have reconciled themselves to a life lived aboard the sunken ship, Mareaux still works tirelessly to find a way for the ship to leave the planet and find a new, dryer home.
Kalina reviewed Harold Halibut and said this in her conclusion:
Harold Halibut is a long-awaited game that more than pays off the wait. It’s a classic adventure game with a lot of soul that shouldn’t be missed.
Ready, Steady, Ship! – April 19th
Grab a buddy for this chaotic couch co-op delight. Use various tools and equipment to assemble the most efficient conveyor belts to keep the goods flowing.
Keep the line moving! Chaotically assemble the most efficient conveyor belts to keep the goods flowing out of the factory. Use various tools and equipment to overcome the ever-increasing challenges and goods the factory throws at you. It’s best played in a 2-player couch coop, but it also supports single-player.
James reviewed Ready, Steady, Ship and said this in his conclusion:
Ready, Steady, Ship! is another example of a game that turns a real-world occupation into something silly but ultimately fun. That is provided you’re playing in co-op. Single-player is not awful, but it highlights some of the game’s niggles, such as floaty controls, wonky physics and the experience feeling more mundane. But throw a controller at another player, and much of this is overlooked since you can just sit back and have fun with the silliness on screen.
Add to the star system not being tied to a time limit, and you also have an experience that’s welcoming to those who have found other co-op games a tad stressful. Need another game night for two? Then consider Ready, Steady, Ship! for your next purchase.
Lunar Lander Beyond – April 23rd
Guide a roster of colourful pilots, eclectic advisors and state-of-the-art landers through a taxing series of missions. Deliver cargo, retrieve resources, and rescue stranded pilots as you navigate a mysterious universe of moons and planets.
As a newly appointed captain of the Pegasus corporation, you must guide a roster of colourful pilots, eclectic advisors and state-of-the-art landers through a taxing series of missions. Deliver cargo, retrieve resources, and rescue stranded pilots as you navigate a mysterious universe of moons and planets.
James reviewed Lunar Lander Beyond and said this in his conclusion:
Lunar Lander Beyond was a mixed experience for me. On the one hand, I liked how the game maintained the control scheme from the original, requiring patience and careful control to succeed in missions. The different ships, upgrades and pilot perks also add some satisfying variety to keep you interested till the end of the game. The reasonably short mission structure would also appeal to busy gamers who can only fit a few short sessions in here and there.
Features I wasn’t so fond of was the stress meter which felt more like a nuisance than a rewarding challenge to overcome. Also, the missions, while showing some variety, felt a bit repetitive at times. Do I recommend the game? Yes. Lunar Lander Beyond is different from a lot of games on the market, and so long as you go in with a patient mindset, I think you’ll have fun with it.
Another Crabs Treasure – April 25th
Another Crab’s Treasure is a soul-like adventure set in a crumbling underwater world. As Kril, the hermit crab, you’ll need to wear the trash around you as shells to withstand attacks from enemies many times your size. Embark on an epic treasure hunt to buy back your repossessed shell and discover the dark secrets behind the polluted ocean.
Manor Lords -April 26th
Manor Lords is a strategy game that allows you to experience the life of a medieval lord. Grow your starting village into a bustling city, manage resources and production chains, and expand your lands through conquest.
Inspired by the art and architecture of late 14th-century Franconia, Manor Lords prioritizes historical accuracy wherever possible, using it to inform gameplay mechanics and visuals alike. Common medieval tropes are avoided in favour of historical accuracy to make the world feel more authentic, colourful, and believable.
I had a look at the Early Access version of Manor Lords and said this:
Overall, Manor Lords is looking pretty good for an Early Access release, and it is a fun and enjoyable addition to the city-building strategy genre. I imagine the developer has lots of plans for the early access stage of the game before the 1.0 release of the game, though Slavic Magic is not releasing any information about a road map for Manor Lords.
I, for one, am looking forward to what’s in store for Manor Lords. Slavic Magic should be extremely proud of what has been accomplished in developing Manor Lords. Did I already mention I’m impressed? Manor Lords is worth purchasing now, or if you prefer to wait until Early Access is over, you can add your wishlist to the game’s Steam page here.
