Welcome. It’s time to look at the Upcoming Steam Games in June 2024 that we have on our radar. But aside from our Upcoming Steam Games, if you play on Nintendo Switch, we also have an Upcoming Switch Games article here.
Furthermore, not all games to be released are on the list here. Alternatively, you will see games that the other gaming sites don’t mention. We are taking notice of these games, and you can expect reviews for many of them if given half a chance! It should be noted that unless we have some personal experience with the game, there’s a link to the descriptions on the Steam website.
The Ancients – June 5th
The Ancients is a turn-based survival strategy game where you lead a prehistoric hunter-gatherer tribe through the last ice age. Survive the elements, hunt fierce animals, migrate to new continents, advance your technology, make social and political tribe decisions, and evolve your civilization.
Mina gave us her thoughts on The Ancients:
The Ancients has great music, but the graphics feel a little PlayStation 2. It’s complex, but it doesn’t do a great job of introducing you to its complexity. I have a feeling that most players who pick up The Ancients will already have a foundation in Civ-type games and will probably have a lot more luck with it than I did. I spent my time overwhelmed and confused, and I don’t recommend this to beginners of the genre.
Blockbuster Inc – June 6th
Welcome to Blockbuster Inc., the next-generation simulation game where you take the reins of your movie studio and pave your way to the cinematic hall of fame. Create groundbreaking films, nurture the next generation of acting talents, and usher in a new era in the movie industry.
Build it, decorate it, manage it. In Blockbuster Inc, you choose how your studio looks, from wallpapers to the size of the rooms. You can choose working hours, buy shares from other studios, take loans, decide on marketing, and so much more! There is no end to good management.
Anni reviewed Blockbuster Inc and said this in her conclusion.
Blockbuster Inc. is an incredible game that offers players the opportunity to create their own film studios and movies. With so many options available, it can be overwhelming to know where to start. Thankfully, the game provides a helpful tutorial that guides players through each step, making it easier to navigate. The game has a comforting Sims vibe but with a greater focus and more streamlined experience, creating enjoyable and immersive gameplay for all.
I loved my time with Blockbuster Inc., and I’m looking forward to seeing my studio develop over the next coming decades.
Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge – June 8th
Kamaeru is a cozy farming sim about collecting and raising frogs, farming, and preserving nature. You play as a kind soul, helping an old friend restore the wetlands of your childhood by transforming them into a safe haven for friendly little frogs. With the help of the game’s cast of welcoming NPCs, you will photograph and breed frogs to increase your reputation, decorate your refuge, and plant native crops to help your amphibian abode thrive!
Margaret reviewed Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge and said this in her conclusion:
Kamaeru: A Frog Refuge blends its real-world science with a method of show-don’t tell that makes it less intimidating than Apico, a game which I adored and which also reminded me how much I’d forgotten from my science classes so many decades ago. It’s also committed to a soft, comfy aesthetic that, even if you’ve never looked at frogs as cute before, this game will teach you why so many people just love froggies.
I think my only silly quibble is the lack of audible ‘ribbits;’ just give me a vague background cacophony of happy, croaky little noises. It’s possible it’s something I’ll find as I get even deeper into the game! But that’s so minor and specific to me and isn’t a real complaint at all. The prettiness of this game and its lack of interest in stressing you about time is going to make it a soothing experience for a lot of people. The only way in this game is forward, but at the pace you choose. Pick up and play, or hyper-focus on it; it’s all entirely up to you! The frogs will love you to bits no matter what.
Monster Hunter Stories – June 14th
Monster Hunter Stories is an RPG that takes the world of Monster Hunter and expands upon it in new and exciting ways! No longer are you hunting monsters but raising them! In this deep story featuring heroes known as Monster Riders, you will live alongside monsters and form lifelong bonds with them.
The first instalment of the Monster Hunter Stories series returns, fully voiced in Japanese and English, with additional features such as a new museum mode where you can listen to music and view concept art, allowing you to dive even deeper into the world of Monster Hunter Stories.
SunnySide – June 14th
Find harmony in the Japanese countryside as you help Sparky uncover lost memories in this modern take on the farming and life simulator. Build a thriving homestead, cultivate new relationships, and chase your own happiness in SunnySide.
Anni gave us her thoughts on the SunnySide demo here and had this to say.
SunnySide shows a lot of potential, but like many things, it’s not without flaws. However, I am hopeful that these issues can be addressed and fixed before the final release. One aspect that I appreciate is the ability to customize the gameplay to meet individual needs alongside the vast array of character customisation options available. Moving forward, I truly hope that a manual save option can be incorporated in the future, as this is a feature that many players find essential in gaming experiences.
Given that RainyGames is making its debut with this title, I must say that I am impressed by their efforts. It’s always challenging to introduce a first game to the market, but there is also room for growth and enhancement. I look forward to witnessing the evolution of SunnySide and the potential improvements that will surely come in future projects from RainyGames.
Aarik And The Ruined Kingdom – June 20th
Aarik And The Ruined Kingdom is a relaxing puzzle game that is contained within an epic adventure. Travel through castles, forests, deserts, swamps and tundra. Explore a myriad of unique levels (filled with devious puzzles) in search of your mother in a quest to pull your family back together.

Tavern Talk – June 20th
A cozy visual novel about running a tavern in a D&D-inspired fantasy! Gather rumours, serve magical drinks, and meet adventurers on a life-changing quest.
Befriend a colourful cast of adventurers as they brag about their latest triumph – or commiserate an utter failure. Whether it’s relaxation or a fresh thrill, you’re on hand to give each patron what they need.
Mina reviewed Tavern Talk and had this to say in her conclusion:
Tavern Talk is a unique and fun story with excellent characters, beautiful characters and scenery, and is great fun to play. However, it is missing a lot of the autonomy that I was hoping it would have. If you are looking for a fun visual novel with a great story, good humor, and amazing characters, Tavern Talk will be a five-star game in your books, I think. If you loved Coffee Talk, you’ll dig this one as well.
Everafter Falls – June 20th
Rediscover the simple life. Farm, fish, forge and fight to restore the peace in an all-new farming adventure. Features split-screen coop, a helpful pet, automated drones, resourceful pixies, a card-eating progression system, and dangerous dungeons to delve into!
I reviewed Everafter Falls and said this in my conclusion; we also have hints and tips guide here.
If you like games with a lot of collecting, community events and busy work, then Everafter Falls will be the game for you; it’s a heartwarming escape into a world where simplicity and friendship reign supreme. The blend of farming, fishing, and fighting, coupled with innovative mechanics like card-eating and supportive drones and your handy pet, creates a refreshing and engaging gameplay experience. Kalina checked out Times & Galaxy and said this:
Times & Galaxy appears to be a promising game that combines investigative gameplay, character interactions, and a touch of realism from the world of journalism, making it an exciting prospect for players looking for a unique and immersive gaming experience. You can find the Times & Galaxy Steam page here.

Crab God – June 20th
Crab God is an atmospheric underwater strategy game. Guide your Crabling colony through wild ocean depths, and defend the egg of the next Crab God. Restore and protect diverse coral reefs, making a difference in the real world as you progress in-game. Make waves, praise the claw!
Become the Guardian of the Abyss and lead the Great Migration to bring forth the next Crab God. Use your growing knowledge and great power to command your loveable crab babies (Crablings) to restore your ocean domain and protect your successor’s egg as you venture into the watery depths.
I reviewed Crab God and said this in my conclusion:
Crab God is a fun and engaging underwater strategy game that offers a nice blend of strategic depth and ecological management, and the crablings are so cute.
While there are occasional difficulty spikes and some repetitive tasks that some players might not enjoy, the overall experience is pretty rewarding. Crab God not only entertains but also educates, and knowing that while you play the game, you are making a positive impact on the real-world environment is a great feeling.
