Helpful secretary

Park Manager

If you’re familiar with their style and presentation, then Wild Park Manager runs along similar lines. The development and expansion of your given role to produce the best Wild Park you possibly can. You are introduced to your secretary who will be popping up on screen often to offer advice.

The secretary leads you through an adequate tutorial that explains the gameplay to you. Soon you will be building a plaza, and adding decoration to it such as a notice board, bench and some bins. Then the visitors will start to arrive and if you are lucky, the cash will come rolling in from the entrance fee. This leads to the building of playgrounds, animal petting zones, food courts and more!

Build lots of amenities

Build Amenities to Attract the Crowds

You’ll get to design your park as you like, if you have the funds of course! There are all sorts of facilities for you to construct. And of course, good management is key to ensuring the park prospers, bringing in lots of visitors.

In order to achieve this, you need to purchase a variety of items to place in your park. From a side menu, selected with the R button, you can select from a range of Areas, such as a Plaza, Waterslide, or Wild Beast Enclosures for animals. Place vending machines, as well as general items with which to decorate, such as plants to create an attractive park.

Summertime in the park

The more attractive or appealing you make your park, the more variety in people you’ll attract. This in turn generates revenue which you can use to upgrade the park. Develop the park using your budget to take on Research projects and Investments. As you progress on these fronts, you will then unlock further Areas, Amenities, and Facilities. Even expanding floor space to allow more room in which to fit your new stock.

Invite all kinds of Animals

Since the park is not just for people you’ll have to work hard to make it attractive for animals too! There is a good variety of animal to invite to your park. From scaly, feathered and furry animals, you’ll start with inviting cats and dogs and soon you will be inviting exotic animals into your park.

Invite animals to the petting zone

Take part in challenges, such as growing saplings until they grow into fine trees, have visitors compete to catch lots of fish, and see if you can hatch various birds and reptiles. When you start running out of space, grab a pickaxe and make more land usable, also finding various materials in the process. These materials can be used to upgrade your facilities, or even make special items!

Everything has an unlock condition that must be met. Even if you unlock something once it will need to be unlocked again every time you want to place certain trees or plants. I found this a little aggravating having to unlock items over and over again, though I do understand the concept of the game that the money I earn is spent on unlocking items.

Addictive Gameplay

Development is the key here, as well as maintaining your bankroll. You can’t spend all the money you earn in one go or your park will go bankrupt. Patience is required, something I lack a little off, and could possibly explain why my park went bankrupt twice in the early stages of the game.

These simulation games are enjoyable and quite addictive and go way deeper than what they give away at first glance. Wild Park Manager contains a very addictive formula and gameplay loop that simply keeps you playing.

Despite the majority of Kairosoft games following a similar template, they often contain something that is a little different in order to differentiate themselves from their previous works. In the case of Wild Park Manager, it is the lure of the animals that makes it different from the other simulation games in their catalogue.

Visuals and Controls

Wild Park Manager is pleasant to look at with the little pixelated people wandering in and out of the park. It is certainly bright in its presentation. It is a standard look for all Kairosoft games, with bright colourful visuals backed up with a happy chirpy soundtrack.

The game is controlled by either the joy-cons or the touchscreen. They both work equally well, I mainly used the joy-cons as the controls felt slightly more intuitive to me.

Conclusion

This is the first Kairosoft simulation game I’ve played, and I had a lot of fun with it. Since I haven’t played any other games in the catalogue I can’t say if this is one of the best out of the many games they have released. However, Wild Park Manager  is an enjoyable little simulation game to pass a few hours of playtime with.

Final Verdict: I Like It A Lot  I like it a lot
