The fans of the series have been waiting eagerly for this news: Yo-Kai Watch 2 has a release date in the US: September 30Â of this year! Funny to think that the European release of the first game is only just 3 weeks old!
As is very fashionable at the moment, it will be a dual release named Yo-kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits & Fleshy Souls, and each version has unique Yo-kai. The new titles will offer over 100 new Yo-kai whichever version you choose. You will have new areas to explore, and it seems a time travelling mechanic is key this time around.
Together with Hasbro and Disney XD Level-5 will bring more TV shows (this Summer) and toys (this Fall) to America too, to support the new game of course. What’s even more interesting though, is that in the second game they have added online battles and improved the be-friending system. Getting the Yo-Kai to give you their medal in the first game could be a pain in the first one!
Anyway, I’m glad to hear they are bringing the follow-up games west too! No for a European release date…I’m afraid we will have to wait a bit for that one.
In honour of the game being released in Europe a course of weeks ago I made an editorial piece on Gameraven.com, featuring the world of Yo-Kai Watch. So if you haven’t played the games yet, and you want to wait for the second instalment to experience it for yourself, you can find more insights here:
Oh heck yes! I’ve played the first game, and I thought it was nice, despite a bunch of errors, but I’ve heard this one fixes almost everything! I can’t wait!
I agree, this one should be the plus version of number one, so great!
Now to wait until about June 2017 for the European release….but at least it’s nice to know we will also get more installments. I’m hoping they release the newest spin-off too, though probably only after they localize Yokai Watch 3.
True, apparently the game did we enough the merit getting more games West. I’m glad for that, more choice is always good!
Good news. I was wondering if the sales of the first title would justify bringing over the sequels to the west.
Me too, I’m glad they did well enough!
