YvoCaro Plays: Mind the Gap and catching Heartbeatles

Time to sit down for another YvoCaro Plays. As always, these blurbs are mostly about the video games I’m currently playing. Unedited thoughts that spring up in my mind, mostly game related. And sometimes a random train of thoughts starting with the game and ending somewhere completely different.

It’s only fair to warn you that spoilers might sometimes be included. If you like these bits of gaming thoughts you can find the previous ones here.

Mind the Gap

A couple of weeks I already mentioned to you that I’m distracted. So distracted that I turn to little time-waster-games that sooth me and help me not to think. This past weekend we were in London. Getting our daughter settled for her internship for her studies that will last 4 months. Which of course explains my distractedness.

We spent a couple of days there before she started work. Buying some last minute things she needs when taking care of herself. Getting the key to her room in a student flat. I think that moment was a bit of a low in our emotional roller coaster. I have never before seen student housing, and although my husband assured me that he had seen worse, I wasn’t prepared for the mess.  Luckily, we could remedy that her room looked bare and lacklustre. A trip to the local IKEA took care of that.

But we couldn’t do anything about the kitchen as it was a common space for all flatmates to use. Don’t get me wrong, no grime or mould or anything that bad. Just so much stuff on the kitchen counter tops, empty suitcases store there for lack of storage space. And two refrigerators that were chock full with things I didn’t dare take out. For fear of finding that they had come to life again.

And now we are home again, that it, my husband and I. Boy, am I glad for modern day technology that enables me to see where she is (Apple’s Find Friends) and chat with her all day (WhatsApp). And in the evenings, we can chat to her face to face through FaceTime. It helps. But I can’t wait to go back to London in a couple of weeks!

Connecting through Pocket Camp

So, once again, I revert to playing Animal Crossing Pocket Camp. What a nice surprise that the game has brought lots of nice updates yesterday.  It’s so much more easy now to fulfil all the animals’ requests. Pete is now helping me, and doing it in no time at all. The Treasure Maps that I can now explore with Blathers are fun too.

And today another Garden Event is on, which suits me very well. With Pelly’s Flight of Passion, I can now share Heartbeatles with my daughter. And in this way, easily span the kilometres that divide us.
