Wish Upon A Llama Demo Impressions

Wish Upon a Llama is a cozy simulation rpg game where you get to raise all kinds of animals and run havoc in town while making a lot of refreshing connections with the townies. A classic cosy game, you say? Not a chance!

A taste of Wish Upon a Llama

The promise of some llama, a town full of colors, and a whole lot of bunnies.

That’s how Wish Upon a Llama first greeted me, with a smile, a little sparkle, and the promise of a cozy life surrounded by fluffy creatures. I thought I’d just peek into the demo for a few minutes… and ended up staying long enough to name half the rabbits (no regrets).

In this short-but-sweet glimpse of what the full game could become, here’s what made me fall for it, and what I’ll be watching for in the future.

The lovely grandparents… They’re always the ones who turn your gamer life around, aren’t they?

The pros of Wish Upon a Llama

The visuals are so cute, I’m getting a toothache, they’re just that sweet. More importantly, every scene is packed with charming details. I love when a game doesn’t leave empty corners, and Wish Upon a Llama definitely delivers on that front.

The city map is filled with shops and townsfolk waiting to be discovered. Each district has its own personality; some areas feel completely unique, yet they all blend together into a beautifully cohesive world. There’s a lovely sense of unity behind this colorful palette.

Isn’t it SO cute ?!

Mini-games are already part of the experience, and more are clearly in development, which promises an even richer and more consistent gameplay experience in the full version.

Taking care of the shelter animals is delightfully simple — and I’m especially fond of bath time (I mean… who wouldn’t be?). The town calendar shows all kinds of themed days, with decorations changing accordingly, making everything feel alive and dynamic.

That’s it! I’m just adopting them all!

Most of the townsfolk are genuinely happy to see you. But not all of them. That little touch of realism adds an extra layer to the community vibe.

I already adore taking care of the rabbits, their variety, their fluffiness, their little habits, so hearing that twelve different species will be available in the full game? Yes, please! I’m so in.

And can we talk about how diverse the characters are? They vary in personality, appearance, jobs, and even age, since you interact with children as well. The inclusivity is refreshing.
I already feel like choosing just one romance option is going to be impossible (in the best way). Also, kudos for letting players romance men or women as they please. Always a big plus in cozy life sims!

The Cons of Wish Upon a Llama

Cons? Honestly… I had to dig deep.

The only tiny bug I encountered was while trying to catch some ducks by the lake. The game didn’t really differentiate between when I was in the water and when I was still on the sidewalk. So I ended up triggering the same interaction twice. That’s it. A small fix, barely worth mentioning.

Final Thoughts

I can’t wait! …Okay, let me try that again. Calm down, enthusiasm.

I saw so many promising features in this demo. The visuals stole my heart right away, and if the final gameplay continues in the same direction, Wish Upon a Llama is going to be an absolute banger (yes, I said it).
If you’re into cozy games that mix charming characters, meaningful relationships, and plenty of fuzzy moments, this one should definitely be on your radar. I’ll be keeping a close eye on its development and counting down the days until the full release.

Unfortunately, the demo is no longer available on the Steam page, but trust me, it’s so worth the wait!
