Everafter Falls is a cute RPG adventure game. I reviewed the game and gave it a score of I like it a lot. In the game, you will complete storyline quests to open more content, craft, gather resources and take part in combat in the dungeons in Everafter Falls.
However, while the game is cute and fun to play, it only offers a little help or direction for newcomers to the genre. In fact, even those players who have played this type of game before might need clarification about some aspects of the gameplay. So it’s time for an Everafter Falls hints and tips guide to help you out on your adventure.
Customise Your Character and Pet In Everafter Falls

After the game’s introduction, you can customise your character; you can choose skin and hair colour, hairstyle, the colour of their top and bottom garments, your favourite colour, the decoration you want on your shirt, and also the colour of your pet and your character gender, then click the “I’m ready” button.
Next, you have the choice of your farm layout. You can have a standard-sized farm with a farmhouse and a small lake, a mini-sized farm or a farm with a moat around it; the choice of which farm you choose is up to you. I went with the standard farm.
Spooklets

In Everafter Falls, your character does not have a stamina bar, so you don’t have to worry about running out of stamina. During combat in the Everafter Falls, four dungeons, you do have a health bar shown in the left corner of the screen; if you lose some health, it does regenerate on its own quite quickly, or you can use a potion. To save your game, you must sleep in bed at home.
Furthermore, each day does come to an end at midnight on the dot; an hour before midnight, you get a warning from the game that you have only an hour left before the Spooklets (mini ghosts) arrive to whisk you back to bed. If you don’t make it back to your home in time and into bed, the ghosts will put you to bed. The following morning, you will wake up later in the day, losing a few hours of daytime as punishment for not going to bed.
Inventory/ Backpack

To access your inventory, press the X button. To drop an item from your inventory, drag and drop it outside your inventory by pressing and dragging with the A button or pressing and holding the Y button.

Your inventory in Everafter Falls holds 12 items, which isn’t a lot; you can make a chest to store items in. I would suggest you make a chest as soon as you have the resources and place the chest outside your house somewhere it’s easy to access.
To use an item in your inventory while you are exploring Everafter Falls, use the L and R shoulder buttons to move left or right along the inventory slots. Whatever item the cursor is highlighting in your inventory, your character will hold that item in their hand.
Not only do you have your backpack, but your pet is able to have a total of 12 storage slots; it begins with four slots, which you can see underneath your inventory slots. Also, as you progress, you will have two support drones. These support drones have storage slots, which can be upgraded, too, giving you an additional 24 slots. So, by the late game, inventory capacity goes all the way up to 48 slots.
Your Pet and What it Can Do

Visit Daisy in the Animal Centre when you receive the quest “Your Little Companion” to be reunited with your pet; though you won’t remember them and will have to give your pet a name, my pet ended up being called No Name as I couldn’t think of anything to call it.
Once you have collected your pet from Daisy, the pet can help you on your homestead by tilling the ground and watering the crops.

To use your pet to till the soil, your character’s cursor should be on the tile in front of your character. Press the Y button to highlight the tile, and your pet will dig into that tile. Press the Y button on the same tile again for your pet to till the soil, which is now ready for the seeds. Press A while holding the seed packet to plant the seed on the tiled tile. Finally, press the Y button on the tile you have placed the seed on, and your pet will water the tile.

You can also select multiple tiles at once by holding the Y button on a tile and dragging it with the Left stick to highlight more than one tile. You can only highlight four tiles at the beginning of the game, but you can increase your pet’s stats to be able to highlight six or more tiles at once.
If your pet is busy tilling or watering, and you want to cancel the command, press and hold the B button to call your pet back to you.
Drones

Aamy will give you your first drone once the story has advanced enough, and you can buy a support drone in the shop. Once you get the drone, you have to place it on your characters’ attachment screen in the menu. The support drone has four storage slots, which gives you extra storage. The drone will follow you and your pet around as you explore Everafter Falls.
The Map and Gathering Resources

To view the map, press ZL. Once the map is on screen, you can use the L stick to move through the list of residents or buildings, enabling you to see exactly where each resident is at that particular time.
To view your quest list, press ZR. To gather resources such as mushrooms that are found around Everafter Falls or shells on the beach, press and hold the B button to pick these items up. You can also pull up trees that are still saplings by holding down the B button.
Eating Cards To Increase Stats

Everafter Falls has a unique way to increase your character and your pet’s stats. Every so often, after you complete a storyline quest, you are given a choice to pick one of three cards. Once you choose a card, it goes into your inventory. However, don’t leave it in your inventory; for your character and pet to gain the stats on the card, your character must eat the card. So, go into your inventory by pressing the X button to access it. Click on the card, and your character will get the option to eat the card to gain the stats it provides.

As you progress in the game, you may find scraps of edible card fragments lying around Everafter Falls. Once you have three pieces of blank edible card, you can take them to Edgar, who runs the Print shop. Hand the three pieces of cards over to Edgar, and he can pulp them up for you and combine them into a Blank Edible Card. You can then choose a card design in the Print shop, and Edgar will print the card for you, which your character can eat. It’s a neat way to increase your character and pets stats.
Shipping Bin

You can find the shipping bin to place items for sale outside Cid’s Store; exit to the right of the map when you are at your homestead. You can place any items you have made or found in the shipping box to sell them for gold coins.
If you make a mistake and put something into the shipping box you do not want to sell, press the RED button at the side of the shipping bin, and the last five items that were added to the shipping box will move back to your inventory slots.
The Museum

Everafter Falls has a massive museum in the town just to the left of where your home is. You can donate items that you have gathered, caught, or grown to the museum.
Anything with a blue star beside an item in your inventory means that the museum does not have that item displayed, so you will know what needs to be donated. To donate an item to the museum, walk up to the green donation box in the museum with the item you wish to add to it highlighted in your inventory so your character can hold the said item in their hand and donate the item to the box. Museum credit is earned for completing any collection. You can exchange the credit for an edible card of your choice.
The Aquarium
There is a large aquarium in the town square in Everafter Falls. This aquarium needs help to repopulate it, and that is your job. Walk up to the aquarium with the item you wish to add to it highlighted in your inventory so your character holds the said item in their hand and donate the item to the aquarium via the green donation box at the front of the aquarium. Similar to the Museum, credit is earned for every item you donate to the aquarium for completing any collection.
Penguin Post
All mail-in Everafter Falls is delivered through Penguin Post. Pip and Pepper are the penguins that run this service and use carrier Pigeons to do the delivery. Now and again, you may find a pigeon who needs to remember how to fly. Take it to the post office, where Pip and Pepper will give it a job delivering mail while at the same time rehabilitating it.
In the post office, you can also find a shredder machine, which you can use to recycle your letters. As a reward, you will receive an organic paper fragment.
Shops and Places of Interest in Everafter Falls
- Aamy = Aamy owns the Projects Workshop in the bottom left of the town. When you visit her workshop, there are various projects to complete at the workshop bench that require many resources that you must supply. On the wall in Aamy’s workshop is a sign; if you interact with it, you will find Aamy’s Moving Terminal. You can use this terminal to reposition any building on your farm or the fireplace and bed in your house. However, you should make sure to clear the area you wish to move anything to. The terminal will not remove grass, objects, or anything else for you. There are no refunds should you not be able to place something due to obstruction.
- Dawn = Dawn, the deer owns the Potion Shop on the left side of the map. Here, you can purchase various health potions for your character.
- Bram = Owns and runs the Blacksmith workshop; on the right of the map, he will also update your tools. Outside the Blacksmith, once you help Bram build it, you will find the Community Job Board. You can choose quests from the Community Board. However, you can only have up to three active quests at a time. You cannot cancel a quest that you take on, and you must complete it before the time is up. The large furnace in Bam’s workshop can smelt any jewellery you have into ores. You can also use the furnace to recover any orbs that have been inserted into jewellery for a cost of 50g.

- Cid = Cid owns the shop where you can buy furniture, wallpaper, and rugs. It’s on the right side of the map and very near to your home. He also sells stone, wood, coal, and ores, as well as a support drone.
- Cedric = Cedric owns the Rocket Bench on the left of the map; like Aamy’s workbench, the rocket requires construction, and you must supply the resources for that to happen.
- Edgar = Edgar owns and works in the Print Shop on the right side of the map. The Print shop is where you can purchase stat cards for your character and pet to increase their stats.
- Daisy = Daisy the Duck owns the Animal Centre in the bottom right of the map. Here, you will collect your pet, and you can purchase other animals to keep on your farm.
- Freya = Freya owns the shop where you can buy all your seeds for crops and trees to plant at your house; it’s on the right side of the map. Outside the shop, there are two seed packets on sale at a reduced price; this is handy when you are short of coins.

- Pip and Pepper = This pair of cute penguins own the Penguin Post, the building at the top left of the map.
- Calvin = Calvin owns the Fishing store at the top right of the map. You can buy mods to increase the stats of your fishing rod here.
- Hersha = Hersha owns the Everafter Falls Bakery. It is here you can buy ingredients and recipes and also help Hersha fill the cafe downstairs with delicious donations of food; it’s like a museum of food,
- Atlas = Atlas can be found in the river on the right side of the map near the bottom. You can speak to Atlas; if you miss your bedtime or die in the dungeons, you can receive your lost items back for a price.
- Tree House = The tree house is on the right side of the map, and Dog owns it.
- The Portal = The portal is on the left side of the map above Dawn’s house. The portal is used to get to warp to the dungeons where you can fight enemies and bosses, and you can also mine for ores and various stones.
Combat in Everafter Falls
The four dungeons in Everafter Falls can be accessed via the town’s Portal. Combat in the game is relatively shallow and easy. Your character is armed with a sword, and they can do a decent amount of damage to enemies. You can also increase your character stats for combat using the stat card-eating system in the game.

In the dungeons, you will also find different stones and ores to mine using your pick axe. All tools, including your sword and pick axe, can be upgraded by Bam in the blacksmith workshop once you supply him with the resources and the coins. You will also find portals in the dungeon, which you can use to get from one area of the dungeon to another.
If you die while in the dungeon, your character is taken back home, and you must pay some coins at the Portal before it will let you warp to the dungeon again; in other words, you must pay for the privilege of being rescued.
Crafting
In Everafter Falls, you will be required to do some crafting to complete quests, and basically, crafting is how you earn coins in the game by selling what you have crafted.
You’ll be able to make plenty of items f that will help you make other neat stuff. Here are just some of the equipment you can craft and what each machine does.
- Shell Crusher = Add shells to create bricks.
- Shell Extractor = Place on the sand at the beach, and it will extract two shells every day.
- Furnace = Will smelt five ores into a bar, needs one coal to work.
- Silk Worm Farm = Add a Silkworn and get a Silk Cocoon in return.
- Beehive = A beehive can hold up to eight bees and supply you with honeycomb and golden honeycomb.
- Compost Bin = Build a compost bin and place Grass fibre in it to receive fertiliser.
- Spinning wheel = Build a Spinning Wheel and add Grass Fibre to it to receive Rope. Also, you can add Slik Cocoons that were made in the Silk Farm to the Spinning Wheel to receive Silk Cloth and Alpaca wool into Alpaca thread.
- Modern Spinning wheel = does all the same spinning as the normal wheel but produces two items; it’s twice as fast as the spinning wheel.
- Glass Maker = makes glass bottles and glass sheets.
- Bottle Attachment = Place a Glassmaker in front of or on either side of the Bottle Attachment to produce three quartz or glass bottles or panels.
- Churner = Produces butter and mayo.
- Fruit and Honey Press = Presses vegetables/fruit into bottled juice and honeycomb into honey.
- Evaporator = Reduces tree Sap into a concentrated form.
- Food Refinier = Refines various ingredients into processed food.
- Incubator = Hatches chicken and goose eggs.
- Alchemy machine = Changes ores, bars and Mineral shards into other items.
You can also craft tools such as a sword, fishing rod, axe and pickaxe, as well as potions, various Pixie bottles, and ink.
Fishing

You can fish in Everafter Falls or any of the rivers or lakes. When you see dark silhouettes of fish swimming underwater, these indicate fishing spots. Using a Fishing Rod that you can craft, you can catch various fish through a simple minigame.
In this Fishing minigame (image above), the rings spin at different speeds, and you must stop them to catch a fish. Once the rings are stopped, the hook falls and bounces into any valid gap below. The catch is determined by the last ring the hook falls through, and if it falls all the way to the centre, you catch the fish in the middle of the ring. It’s not difficult to do; it just takes a bit of practice to stop the ring at the correct time.
Pixie Deposit Chest

The Pixies deposit box lives on the right side of the town. The pixies will deposit any items they harvest into the Pixie Deposit box. It’s your task to empty the chest, and you can sell the items, use them for crafting, or donate them to the Museum.
A Pixie Bottle is required to catch and transport Pixies around. Once bottled, they can be placed on various objects by interacting with that object with the bottle in your hand.
You have to hold the bottle in your hand, and if there is a Pixie in it, press the A button when facing the thing you want to place it on. Note that different coloured pixies can only be placed on certain things; interact with the Pixie Poster on the wall inside Dawn’s house to see which Pixies can be placed on what; it’s on the wall leading to the bedroom on the left.

Hi
I’m lost.
Number of questions and I have searched the internet and best so far is your hints and tips
My major question at present is HOW DO I GET A COMMUNITY KEY?
You can obtain one from a quest with Hersha, and they are sold in a shop (I forget which one) but they cost a prize key. Prize keys can drop as rare loot in the dungeon, can be purchased directly at Cid’s shop, or can be redeemed through the loyalty program. The loyalty program is a vending machine in Cid’s shop where 10% of the gold you spend across all shops is returned as points, which you can redeem for various prize keys.
Hi Mike, thanks for reading. You can get a community key by completing some quests or by purchasing it, I think it was Dawns shop I saw it in and by using the vending machine in Sid’s shop too.
Hi
It’s me again – I obtained a community key – thanks.
Any idea on finding a stove to cook food?
Also – any idea on animals – I guess you can purchase from Daisy but then what?
Mike
Hi Mike. I’m glad you got the community key. Yes you buy the animals from Daisy. Chickens go in the coop behind your house and you have to craft their little bed in the coop. For other animals you have to build a barn by talking to Aamy or possibly by interacting with a poster on the wall in her house and you pay to build the barn along with providing the resources.
Thanks for the tips, Paula. You’re the best!
This is a great beginner’s roadmap. I have been playing for several days and found lots of good tips I did not know yet.
I still haven’t figure out the cooking part of this game though.
Hi,
thanks for your tips! Do you know how to move machines? I put them in the wrong places and now i can‘t seem to find a way put them away… 😀
To pick up machines, drones, etc. press and hold “C”.
