Meow Moments: Celebrating Frost & Flora is the console edition of the two paid DLCs, The Cherry Blossom Park and The Winter Resort, making it the fourth addition of the Meow Moments: Celebrating Together hidden objects game to come to Switch. If you’re curious about the previous installments, Meow Moments: Celebrating Renewal & Romance, Meow Moments: Celebrating Beats & Books, and Meow Moments: Celebrating Myth & Machine, be sure to check them out!

This was my first time playing a Meow Moments game, and I was utterly pleased with it.

The Cozy World of Meow Moments: Celebrating Frost & Flora

Meow Moments: Celebrating Frost & Flora takes us to a beautiful Japanese-inspired park and to a cozy winter village.

The game is pretty straightforward; there’s no actual storyline to follow. The only task to fulfill is to find the items that appear on the panel on top of the map. However, the main scenes alone make you feel part of countless stories told through them.

There is so much happening, from cute little picnics in the cherry blossom park to snowball fights and ice skating in the snowy winter resort. Sometimes I even stared at the scene without actively looking for the objects, only to find some funny moments between them.

Meow Moments: Celebrating Frost & Flora Main Menu
Even the main menu is interactive. You can pop some balloons and discover what the characters are doing.

Can you find them all?

Just as with other Meow Moments Switch games, there are 606 items to find! In each scene, you’ll need to find 101 kittens, 101 diverse characters (other animals and people), and pop 101 balloons.

The balloons can be clicked whenever you see one; some are easier to find than others, as a few may be used as cushions or as items within the map. As for the cats and unique characters, they can only be clicked when they appear on the top panel.

It’s like watching a painting come to life!

Once a diverse character, such as people, dogs, raccoons, and any other animal, is found, it gets fully colored on the map. When a kitten is found, it gets fully colored as well, but it makes a “meow” sound, which is so endearing and cute!

As for the balloons, they make a “pop” sound and disappear. Being honest, kittens were my favorite character to find, since I just wanted to hear them meowing.

Meow Moments Gameplay

The gameplay of Meow Moments: Celebrating Frost & Flora is intuitive, simple, and easy to follow. When starting a new scene, you’ll get a message detailing the instructions and the controls. If you forget how to play it, you can always recall the controls on the menu.

You can change a few settings, including the music and sound effects volume.

There are a few options also available on the menu to make your findings easier. For example, if you’re in for a challenge, go for the clean hint style. This will only show the character you are looking for. If you want to support yourself with the surroundings, I’d recommend choosing the detailed hint style for a more friendly search. This helped me so much, since the hint also shows the close surroundings of the character in the search panel. This way, you can also see the colored characters you already found and scan the map a lot faster.

Clean vs Detailed. The more characters you find, the easier it gets!

If you ever get stuck looking for a cat, worry not! You can either double-click on the character you wish to change, and the game will randomize another one to search for.

Meow Moments: Celebrating Frost & Flora Feline Focus mode. Zooming in and locating missing balloons on Winter Resort scene
Feline Focus saving the day!

If swapping characters doesn’t help much, you can use the “Feline Focus” mode. A magnifier will appear, and you can use it to scan the map and locate the specific section where the character or balloon is located. It doesn’t highlight the items, but once you get closer to it, the magnifier lights up and makes the corresponding sound for the item or character you’re searching for.

Cherry Blossom Park scene completed! It’s so beautiful.

Wondered what happens when you find all items? The full scene gets beautifully colored, and it comes to life. It is something so rewarding after spending time finding all those kittens!

Mentally exhausted? Play Some Meow Moments

What I loved most about this game is that there is no timer, so you can take as long as you want to complete the scene. You can take a few hours, even days or weeks; it is the perfect game to play in your free moments or simply to unwind from the day.

Another feature I truly appreciated is the dark mode, which you can enable if a scene is too bright for you. It made it easier to play some Meow Moments: Celebrating Frost & Flora before going to sleep instead of doomscrolling on social media and staying awake longer than necessary.

My sister watched me play it with such curiosity that she even downloaded it and has become an enthusiast of finding kittens before going to sleep.

Conclusion

Sometimes we are too mentally exhausted, and we just need a cozy game that brings us peace and doesn’t ask too much of us. Meow Moments: Celebrating Frost & Flora is the perfect game for that. With zero pressure, easy gameplay, and a great hint system, I felt drawn to its world without being overwhelmed.

Meow Moments is the cutest, coziest Where’s Waldo-type game. It even features such variety in its characters, including animals and humans of all colors and with disabilities. That small detail made the game even more enjoyable.

If you’re looking for a peaceful finding objects game that won’t take up a lot of mental space, be sure to check Meow Moments: Celebrating Frost & Flora on the Nintendo Store.
