Meow Moments: Celebrating Beats & Books is the console edition of the two paid DLCs, Music Festival and Welcome to Campus, released on Steam for the Meow Moments: Celebrating Together hidden objects game. This is the second Meow Moments to come to Switch, the first was Meow Moments: Celebrating Renewal & Romance.

Will Meow Moments: Celebrating Beats & Books be purr-fect or a cat-astrophe!

Finding Objects in Meow Moments: Celebrating Beats & Books

There are two scenes in Meow Moments: Celebrating Beats & Books, in which to look for a total of over 600 hidden objects.

The Music Festival scene with various stages and musicians, and campsites. There are lots of people and animals filling the scene. Published on LadiesGamers
Where to begin?

For each scene, there are 101 cats, 101 characters (people and other animals) and 101 balloons to find. The kittens and characters must be one of the 6 shown at the top of the screen. However, clicking on the picture at the top will swap it for a new one, although at some point you will have to find the original one.

That bit of colour made it easier to spot!

The scene is packed with cats, people, scenery and other animals. Once the cat or character is found, it gets coloured in on the main picture. There’s a lovely little ‘meow’ when you find the cats.

There is no order in which the items need to be found, and it can be easier to start with the balloons. Some of the balloons, which come in all kinds of shapes, are hidden in plain sight as balloon decorations, but others might be used as cushions or pillows. The balloons pop and disappear once they are found.

Yeah! Finished.

Once all 303 items have been found, the scene fills with bold colours.

Getting Help in Meow Moments

The difference between clean or detailed objects to search for. Published on LadiesGamers
Do you want a challenge?

There are two search picture options: clean and detailed. The ‘clean’ option gives just the individual character you are looking for. Whereas the ‘detailed’ option gives the surrounding items, including the colour of any found kitten or character. This does make it easier to find the objects as you progress.

However, suppose you still can’t find that cat, character or balloon. In that case, there is a very helpful ‘Feline Focus’ mode in Meow Moments: Celebrating Beats & Books, just as there was in Meow Moments: Celebrating Renewal & Romance. The whole scene becomes visible, and a large magnifying glass appears on screen. As you move the magnifying glass around the picture, a blue circle will appear when you are over the hidden object. The ‘Feline Focus’ can be used as many times as you like, although there is a few seconds’ cool down between uses.

Gameplay

The controls in Meow Moments: Celebrating Beats & Books are straightforward and intuitive. It took me a while to get the pointer sensitivity correct, but after that, the game played well in docked mode, and there is excellent use of the touchscreen functionality for handheld mode.

Turn to the dark side…

As well as language and volume options, it’s possible to alter the sensitivity of both the pointer and zoom. If required, the zoom can be inverted, and you can play in ‘dark mode’.

The autosave feature ensures that no found item is lost when you quit out.

The time to play is dependent on how easy you find the objects. Expect around 2-4 hours of play with Meow Moments: Celebrating Beats and Books. However, as there are so many cats and characters in each scene, there is room for a couple of replays before it gets too memorable.

Conclusion

Meow Moments: Celebrating Beats & Books is a delight to play. The colouring in of found objects makes it more interesting, and with the soft tunes and great hint system, it’s less stressful than other hidden object games.

If you enjoy finding objects, then Meow Moments: Celebrating Beats & Books is a worthwhile investment.

Final Verdict: I Like it a Lot I like it a lot
