Meow Moments: Celebrating Renewal & Romance is the Nintendo Switch version of the Steam game Meow Moments: Celebrating Together containing the base game scene of Happy New Year! (i.e. Renewal), and the DLC Valentine’s Day (i.e. Romance). Unlike the Steam version, Meow Moments: Celebrating Renewal & Romance does not include the community and creative maker.
Will Meow Moments: Celebrating Renewal & Romance be a purr-fectly paw-some hidden objects game?
Finding Objects in Meow Moments: Celebrating Renewal & Romance
Meow Moments: Celebrating Renewal & Romance contains just two scenes in which you can look for hidden objects, but before you get too disappointed that there aren’t more scenes, you will be looking for over 600 objects.
For each scene, there are 101 kittens, 101 diverse characters and 101 balloons to find. The kittens and characters must be one of the 6 shown at the top of the screen. Once the kitten or character is found, it gets coloured in on the main picture.
Some of the balloons are hidden in plain sight, but others might be being used as cushions or sneakily hiding behind other objects. Most are circular or oval, but some are heart-shaped, have ears or even clever balloon poodles.
Once all 303 items have been found, the scene fills with colour.
Meow Moments Help!
There are two search hint options: detailed and clean. The detailed option gives the surrounding items, including the colour of any found kitten or character. This does make it easier to find the objects as you progress. However, if you want to challenge yourself, the clean option strips back all clues, including items which might be interacting with the kitten or character.
Double-clicking on the search hint picture will swap it for a new one, although you will eventually have to find the original.
However, if the kitten, character or balloon is still eluding you, there is a very helpful ‘Feline Focus’ mode in Meow Moments: Celebrating Renewal & Romance. The whole scene becomes visible, and a large magnifying glass appears on the screen. This can be moved around the scene, and when it finds the object you are looking for, a blue circle appears on the magnifying glass. The ‘Feline Focus’ can be used as many times as you like, although there is a few seconds of cool down between uses.
Gameplay
The controls in Meow Moments: Celebrating Renewal & Romance are straightforward and intuitive. The game plays really well in both docked and handheld modes, with excellent use of the touchscreen functionality.
As well as language and volume options, it’s possible to alter the sensitivity of both the pointer and zoom. If required, the zoom can be inverted and you can play in ‘dark mode’.
The autosave feature ensures that no found item is lost when you quit out.
As with any hidden objects game, the time to play is dependent on how easily you find the item. Expect around 2-4 hours of play with Meow Moments: Celebrating Renewal & Romance. However, as there are so many kittens and characters in each scene, and that the selection to find is random, there is room for a couple of replays before it gets too easy.
Conclusion
Meow Moments: Celebrating Renewal & Romance is delightful to play. The gradual colouring of the scene as items are found makes it more interesting and less stressful as you progress.
