Meow Moments: Celebrating Myth & Machine is the console edition of the two Steam DLCs, The Old Kingdom and The New Frontier. This is the third Meow Moments to come to Switch, following in the paw prints of Meow Moments: Celebrating Renewal & Romance and Meow Moments: Celebrating Beats & Books.

I enjoyed the previous Meow Moments a lot. Will Meow Moments: Celebrating Myth & Machine be as paw-some?

Finding the Objects

Meow Moments: Celebrating Myth & Machine contains two scenes in which to look for over 600 hidden objects.

The New Frontier scene (machine) with aliens, hover boards and robots. There are lots of people and animals filling the scene. Published on LadiesGamers
I can see some balloons!

Similar to the other Meow Moments games, there are 101 cats, 101 characters (people and other animals) and 101 balloons to find in both the Myth and Machine scenes. The cats and characters must be one of the 6 shown at the top of the screen, but there is no such restriction for the balloons. If you struggle with one of those 6, clicking on the picture will swap it for a new one (although at some point you will have to find the original one!)

Adding colour!

The scene is packed with cats, other animals, people, and objects. The Myth scene contains knights and wizards, carts, wooden buildings and tents, whereas the Machine scene contains robots and aliens, hoverboards and spaceships. Once a character is found, it gets coloured in on the main picture. However, the balloons pop and disappear.

Once all 303 items have been found, the whole scene fills with strong colours.

Meow Moments Help!

Clean or Detailed?

As with all the Meow Moments games, you can select whether you want a ‘clean’ search picture or a ‘detailed’ search picture. The ‘clean’ option strips back all clues, including any item which might be interacting with the cat or character, making it a challenge to find, whereas the ‘detailed’ option shows the surrounding items, including any colour.

The last balloon is down there.

However, if you are still struggling to find something, you can use the ‘Feline Focus’ mode. This makes a magnifying glass appear, which can be moved around the zoomed-out scene. When the magnifying glass goes over the object you are searching for, a blue circle appears on the inner edge. There’s no limit to using the ‘Feline Focus’, although there is a cool-down period of a few seconds.

Gameplay

The controls in Meow Moments: Celebrating Myth & Machine are straightforward and intuitive, and the game played well in both docked and handheld modes, although I did find the search pictures slightly small on the Switch Lite screen. There is excellent use of the touchscreen functionality, and I played using this method for most of my 2+ hours, completing both scenes with the detailed search pictures.

As well as language and volume options, it’s possible to alter the sensitivity of both the pointer and zoom. If required, the zoom can be inverted, and you can play in ‘dark mode’, adding an extra layer to the game.

Meow Moments: Celebrating Myth & Machine autosaves, ensuring that no found character is lost when you quit out.

Conclusion

Like the Meow Moments which came before, Meow Moments: Celebrating Myth & Machine is a delight. The soft tunes and great hint system make it less stressful than other hidden object games, and the gradual colouring of the scene adds interest.

Final Verdict: I Like it a Lot I like it a lot
