Find the Objects

Curious Paws: Hidden Objects has six levels where you will need to find three different types of items—mostly insects and plants—multiple times. The game’s menu is straightforward: a single image smartly divided into six sections, each representing a level, with seamless transitions between them. Across the beautifully illustrated, picturesque drawings, you’ll need to find all 40 items of each type.

Look at this good boy!

The gameplay is simple: objects are cleverly camouflaged within the scenery, but they remain in plain sight—none are hidden behind another. This means there’s no need for frantic clicking to uncover secret spots; the hunt is far more intuitive than that.

In addition to the standard collectables, each level also hides a rat. Collecting all of them unlocks a secret level, which is displayed on the main menu from the start. As you gather rats, the image for this locked level gradually changes until it eventually shows the rats finishing a barn, giving access to it. It’s a unique and stylish twist on the typical progress bar.

Careful with those bees!

Another distinctive challenge is avoiding the bees scattered across every level. Clicking on one will cause your cursor—a tiny paw—to get “hurt,” temporarily preventing you from collecting items for a few seconds. Avoiding these bees is trickier than it sounds; some buzz and fly around the screen, often drifting into your path just as you’re about to click an object, making misclicks surprisingly common.

Additional features include a timer that can be disabled and hints that recharge every few seconds. Some items are so well hidden that even a hint doesn’t make them easy to spot—but at least the hint remains active until you click the highlighted object. The list of required items appears at the top of the screen and fades away after a few seconds of inactivity, reappearing as soon as you click again.

Conclusion

Curious Paws is a simple yet engaging title. Its unique challenges and charming artwork are sure to attract fans of the hidden-object genre. Achievements are easy to earn and track, with the menu clearly indicating whether you used hints or clicked a bee in each level — two of the hardest achievements to get.

The only feature I wished for was the ability to reset a level before finishing it—particularly useful right after accidentally clicking a bee. That minor caveat aside, the levels are fun, occasionally challenging, and capable of holding your attention for an hour or two. I certainly enjoyed my time with it, and I’m confident many other genre enthusiasts will too.
