A new face: let’s meet Glenn

Hello, my name is Glenn. Though, to be very honest I’m still choosing between two names (Glynda or Heather) for my future. You see, I’m a 28-year-old transgender woman from the Netherlands with PDD-NOS and ADHD. In everyday life I have a job at a bakery for one day in the week, I also run a YouTube channel.

I am very passionate about games, anime and everything that has to do with Japan. I have had that drive and passion for gaming ever since I was a young kid, starting off with a Sega MegaDrive/Genesis with Sonic the Hedgehog. That is a franchise that I have stuck with for many years while getting into Nintendo’s games on the GameBoy, like Pokémon with Red and Blue. Along the way I got into many other franchises like Persona, Shin Megami Tensei, Inazuma Eleven, Yo-Kai Watch, Final Fantasy, Street Fighter and Guilty Gear, to name a few. Next to my passion for games I also have a passion for anime. My favourites include Sailor Moon, Ranma 1/2, Carole & Tuesday, Sugar Sugar Rune, Kiki’s Flying Delivery Service and many more.

My favourite gaming genres include JRPGs, Fighting Games, Action games and Visual Novels.
Most of which I cover on my YouTube channel (which you can find here).

I have been active on YouTube for close to 10 or 11 years and I have some experience in writing about games as a freelancer for a different site. I never expected to get really amazing opportunities like freelance writing for gaming news outlets and becoming an “Influencer” for various games that are developed and published by Arc System Works, Koei Tecmo Europe, PQube and Marvelous Europe to name a few. Though I would argue I am more of a passionate gamer girl than anything else.

But, here we are 10 to 11 years later and I am happy to work with them and of course, I am looking forward to writing many fun articles for Ladies Gamers. Such as reviews, guides, maybe even the occasional news article and many more!

I hope you look forward to it, I know I do!

    1. Thanks for the lovely reply Kimi! I am sure that I will enjoy being in this group and part of this community. I hope you also will have fun checking out my stuff. I’m still thinking about it. Something about Heather just calls to me. While Glynda is a better version of Glenda overall. I’ll be taking my time to think there’s no rush really.

  2. I’ve decided on a name I want to go by and prefer from now on and in the future.
It’s going to be Heather. I really love that name personally and even describes me to a T. <3

      1. Hello Kimi! Many thanks for the virtual hug. I’m doing well and I am working on a few reviews for the site right now and enjoying Pride month. Take care of yourself!
