Additionally, we also feature upcoming Steam games for those who prefer gaming on Steam!

You can expect reviews for many of them if given half a chance! Candy Rangers – October 2nd
Race against time in this brand new on-rails shooter where you control 4 characters at once! Meet Candy, Mint, Lemon and Plum, quadruplets that live together and work as rangers to fight creatures that come in to ruin the natural environments of the city.
James reviewed Candy Rangers and said this in his conclusion:
Candy Rangers is, at its heart, a sugar-coated arcade throwback. It takes a genre that’s often seen as niche or outdated and injects it with colour and plenty of personality. Yes, it can be overwhelming at first, and yes, you’ll probably have to replay a stage or two, but the cheerful vibe and satisfying mechanics make it a delight to dip into.
It’s not the kind of game that’s going to change your life, but it is the kind of game that can brighten your evening. Sometimes, that’s more than enough. I walked away from it smiling every single time, and really, that’s the best thing you can ask for from a game like this. A welcome addition to the often overlooked cute ’em up sub genre. A free demo is also available on Steam.
Shujinkou – October 2nd
Learn one of the world’s hardest languages as you help Shu, Jin, and Kou save Genya from language-devouring Akuma!
A retired samurai (主, Shu) is entrusted with saving his home from intelligent, language-devouring “Akuma” alongside an eccentric fox (人, Jin) freed from a cursed abode and an astute princess (公, Kou) with her own ambitions.
Shujinkou is a dungeon-crawler that offers a unique opportunity to learn Japanese as you play. In addition to being a full-fledged JRPG, it features thousands of Japanese words, phrases, kana, kanji, and grammar elements that players can master through focus, diligence, and consistency. The language content offers new knowledge for language learners of any level.
Margaret reviewed Shujinkou and gave it our highest score of Two thumbs Up:
Shujinkou ports to the Nintendo Switch with its spirit blessedly intact. The biggest differences come down to the game’s load time and text size, plus the choice for players to check it out at a lower price point. That balances with the larger cash outlay, but chance to play a demo on the Steam version.
More importantly, Shujinkou remains the same inventive, smart, comfy treasure I tried out this past winter. It’s not just a terrific dungeon crawler for fans that love delicately picking through gridded maps for treasures and trials. It’s a genuinely great learning tool for anyone interested in learning Japanese, with a mind towards keeping your attention and personal pace at the fore. It’s simply a great success in both genres.
Yooka-Replaylee – October 9th
Yooka-Replaylee is the definitive remastered and enhanced version of the 3D indie platforming collectathon darling, Yooka-Laylee (2017). New remixed challenges and old favourites await as you embark to explore the huge, beautiful open worlds as the lovable buddy-duo Yooka (the green one) and Laylee (the purple one) once more, all while backed by a beautiful orchestral soundtrack. Did we mention there is a map now? A shiny new currency? And tons of customisation options? The favourite buddy duo has never moved, looked, or sounded better!
Corporate creep Capital B is on a quest to steal all the books in the world and turn them into cold hard cash. BUT the most powerful book in the universe is right under his crooked nose in the neighbouring Shipwreck Creek, home to our adventurous buddy-duo, Yooka and Laylee! Seeing their prized book stolen pulls them into a wacky adventure across many fantastical & imaginative worlds, full of colourful characters and vault-loads of shiny collectables.
Bye Sweet Carole – October 9th
With art inspired by classic animated movies and a story from Chris Darril (Remothered series), Bye Sweet Carole is a narrative-horror game that has you embark on a dark, whimsical tale full of mystery, intrigue and secrets.
Set in the early 1900s, in an age where the women’s suffrage movement has begun to shake the British nation, young Lana Benton must follow the last known trail of Carole Simmons to find her best friend and uncover the dark truth behind the Bunny Hall orphanage.
Color Breakers 2 – October 9th
Color Breakers is back, this time with even more colors to break! Cardboard Town – October 30th
You take city-building games, add card mechanics and roguelite elements, you call it Cardboard Town (because cards and board and town, get it?), and it ends up being really cute, and then you find yourself filling a Steam page, telling people about it. Cool, right?
You place Building Cards using Money and control your stats: Electricity, Water, Environment and Safety. Also, your Population determines how much Money you can have in a turn. Not being able to handle random disasters or failing to manage your stats gets you a Red Alert; get three and you’re out! With each run, you unlock more cards, obtain better stats and options and try to beat your high score!
