Natsume’s Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea, the next instalment in the long-running farming series is releasing on October 15th. The game is coming to Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
I feel it was a good day when the old Harvest Moon series was renamed to Story of Seasons, and we got a whole new series with the current day Harvest Moon. The games have been getting better steadily, and I greatly enjoyed Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos in 2023, and now the successor is coming.
Harvest Moon Farming Sim
In Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea, players leave their home in Bloomfield Village to uncover the mystery behind the mist spreading from the Forest of Echoes. Along the way, they will help restore the land of Teradea, assist Guardian Spirits, and support several villages struggling with storms, earthquakes, and declining communities.
As expected, farming remains at the heart of the experience. Players can grow crops, raise animals, and build relationships while exploring a much larger world. New traversal abilities such as jumping, climbing ladders, and scaling vines make exploration more dynamic than in previous entries.
By helping villagers and contributing to the development of Teradea, players earn Happilia, a new progression system tied to improving the region and supporting its residents.
Animal Companion, Wildlife and Romance
A new Animal Companion System allows pets and mounts to accompany players on their adventures, each offering unique abilities to aid exploration. Beyond the mainland, players can also discover remote islands, search for treasure, and encounter rare animals.
Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea introduces ten new romance candidates, consisting of five bachelors and five bachelorettes, giving players plenty of options when choosing a future partner.
Unlike traditional farming adventures, the wilderness of Teradea is also home to dangerous wildlife. Wolves, bears, and tigers roam certain areas, and being caught by these animals can result in lost items and a forced return to the farm.
Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea aims to combine classic farming and relationship building with expanded exploration, environmental mysteries, and a greater sense of adventure across its varied regions.
